Makes sense, there's much less stigma attached to people of the same sex fighting.

Quite a few famous sports center around man on man and woman on woman smack downs.

You mean it shows that women in same-sex relationships are more violent than men in same-sex relationships

There is a much higher rate of childhood sexual abuse in lesbians versus heterosexual women, so higher abuse rights by them aren't surprising.

It's easier to fight frequently if no one ever gets hurt. If Ronda Rousey fought her hypothetical girlfriend, it would likely be the only fight they ever had. It would be interesting to see the stats adjusted for combat effectiveness. I bet gay men inflict more damage on each other than lesbians despite having fewer fights.

I would say it's more of an options thing.

When your potential dating pool is less then 2% of the population you are willing to deal with character flaws just so you aren't alone.

This would also be true for the really ugly, morbidly obese, and people with physical maladies.

Didn't think of it til you mentioned it, that's a really good point.

I'd be mad too if some guy I lived with kept trying to put his manhood in me.

Your explanation doesn't work out: According to the first study a man is just barely more likely to beat a male partner as a female (21.5 vs 20.4). But a lesbian is much more violent than a straight woman (35.4% vs 7.1%).

Exactly, gay marriage has been around for hardly any time to get real numbers, in a few decades well know for sure, maybe even in 10 years when there's a good sample that includes the "seven year itch."

That, or if you can eat a woman out right, she'll put up with anything.

Of course. People with one psychiatric disorder are statistically more likely to have others.

1) I'm about eleventy seven percent that dv1155's post was a nicely constructed troll.

2) Great post. I think you've hit the nail on the head, although I'd expand just a tad on your point that "a real man would never hit a woman". Boys are taught from the get-go that hitting is wrong, that you should use words not actions, that using violence makes you a bad man (or, worse, stupid). Girls don't have it reinforced anywhere near as much, and even then (as you say) they're often taught "men shouldn't hit women", not "people shouldn't hit people."

3) One of my friends is lesbian and she's the sweetest, most upbeat person you could meet. One of her ex-girlfriends was messed up and violent, it was heartbreaking to hear her describing what she went through. :( I'm glad that you and her both got out of these bad situations.

4) "Everybody quit hitting each other" A-freakin'-men.

Like, you blindly choose a partner, can't know her/his sex for 10 years?

I'm guessing you're joking, but just in case, controlled double-blind studies are kinda impossible to do with social issues on this scale. The source for the article is a CDC survey though, and other surveys and studies seem to confirm it (quick google search will give you a few).

I don't trust studies done by the CDC after their 1 in 5 fabrication.

How exactly would you structure that? I'm beginning to doubt you know what a double blind study is.

Just imagine at the end of the study going "waitaminute... all of that sex was BUTT sex?"
