No the idea of giving control of your vehicle over to a system which can be hacked is not sound. Even under a glorious new reich. Your car can be fucked with far too much with self driving functions. And no system of governance is beyond corruption, not even a supreme ethno state, so some day your car may just be used as yet another tool to stop you from preventing a coup.

Would you trust a machine to be the sole ability to feed yourself? Imagine a world where there is no source of food available except for a machine you sit in that locks you down, transports food from a far away depot, forces your mouth open, and shoves a tube into your stomach to deliver whatever good source its deciding you need at the moment. Oops, someone switched your food supply for pajeet shit, and hacked the system! Enjot having your stomach slowly filled with pajeet shit for the next 12 hours until it ruptures and you slowly die!

Wouldnt trust a machine system you have no control over to feed you? Why would you trust the same machine to transport yourself at high speeds among other high speed vehicles to wherever it might decide to take you or not take you?

You're still not arguing against the idea of self-driving cars, you're talking about other things that can interfere with it. You do realize if the government wanted to stop people from driving in a coupe etc they would simply stop the import of gasoline lol. Electric or even better yet solar powered cars would eliminate the government's intervention.

Do you trust an elevator bro? Do you trust a calculator to give you the correct answers? Do you trust your flash drive to save important documents? It's all a big fallacy, technology is very advanced and does have its uses. We rely on it everyday, even now our replies to each other would be looked at the way you are looking at "self-driving cars" just 50 years ago.

I can make my own for my gas powered car. And drive it where I wish to. I only trust elevators because i have to sometimes, i am a take the stairs kind of person. Can my calculator kill me by telling some equations are wrong when i can just check the equations myself if I don't trust them? Will my flash drive becoming corrupt (it happens) splatter me into a wall at 120mph or not allow me to go to certain areas? Will my comments here reach out from the screen and lock me in and fill my lungs with carbon dioxide? No, they could be manipulated however, which is why these are merely words and I rely on nothing said to be absolute fact.

Self driving cars take a risk that is too great. It removes a freedom that is too vital. My food machine example is a comparable example. Now, i can farm, hunt, or go buy what food i choose and choose when and what to eat. I drive my own food/car. You would trust a machine to make all those decisions for you.
