So, I was piddling around the net, in between sessions of housecleaning and doing the dishes. I was running a web-based game, muted, while playing some music in another tab and checking on Voat in another.. while also reading my email in another.. et cetera.. TLDR: I was slowing my browser down, hardcore, with a lot of multitasking.
I then remembered that the Firefox had previously said they were working on multithreading support, so I did a bit of research.
All current Firefox releases have multithreading support.. but, if you have virtually any addons installed, multithreading is then disabled. (They're waiting to enable multithreading for everyone until they move all Firefox addons to their new format.)
I then found out that you can force-enable multithreading.
1.) Go to about:support (literally copy/paste that into the Firefox address bar) to see if multithreading is currently running. If you have addons, it'll probably tell you that an addon has disabled multithreading.
2.) Go to about:config and search for: browser.tabs.remote.autostart That value should be set to True to enable multithreading. If it is set to false, set it to true, reboot Firefox, then check about:support to see if multithreading was turned on.
3.) If multithreading is still disabled, go to about:config again and right click somewhere on that page, select New in the menu, then select Boolean. In the field that pops up, copy/paste browser.tabs.remote.force-enable and set its value to True.
4.) Reboot Firefox and then go back to about:support and it should say: Multiprocess Windows 1/1 (Enabled by user)
There you go; multithreading is now force-enabled in your Firefox installation.
I've been running it like this for about four hours and haven't run into any errors or other trouble. Your mileage may vary, but it's certainly allowed me to multitask more efficiently.

Awesome; thanks for saying thanks. I figured no one cared and my tutorial was for naught.
