Could brutally raping and murdering a girl in 1990 be the kind of life experience to cause this?

I have a family member who has this. She has imagined all kinds of schemes and back stabbings that people have supposedly done to her, with no basis in reality, then she'll lash out at people, cut off contact with them, never speak to them again if she can help it.

Trying to have a conversation with her is just a constant feeling of WTF. The sun could be shining, the birds singing, and unicorns prancing by letting off rose-scented farts, and she'd be convinced they were all out to get her.

Sounds like I found my very own personality disorder... or even cluster of those disorders...

I read the title thinking "I probably have that to a certain extent." Then I read the text and I have absolutely none of those things.

The definitions provided by OP are a bit different, somewhat harsher, than what I found on the internet (http://healthinfo.uclahealth.org/Library/Encyclopedia/85,P00760)). I knew I for sure have paranoia (although certainly not as severe as OP states in the title), but it would seem that schizoid personality disorder might not be far away from me either

Everyone who is not able to be diagnosed with this "disorder" is simply a naive mark. There are the paranoid and then there are the victims.

I think the absence of any disorder is a disorder in and of itself.
