The Red-headed Mouse spider makes its home in a burrow with 1-2 trapdoors up to 11 inches (~30cm) deep. Their venom is toxic and would hurt badly and possibly be fatal for children, another scary critter from Australia. Both the females and males have large jaws and fangs, but while the females are larger and more stout with a brown coloring the males have a bright red head and jaws contrasting with their dark blue-black body making them look very intimidating.
