LOL I already corrected that. I had to try to remember what the packaging said, 'cause I was too lazy to go look it up again.
And, yeah... I consider it an expense. It's just what I need to do to keep my collection in good condition and to preserve them for the next generation to experience. I'm pondering some sort of loaner library thing to entrust my collection to (from what the heirs don't want to keep, as I'm sure they'll want some). I'm more a steward than an owner.
I agree that stewardship is the angle you’re best to approach your collection from. My favorite instruments are ‘well worn’. One can see the hours put into them. I treat them as a tool, whatever their initial pedigree or cost.
I gotta say, tho, my Hammond definitely could use some stewardship. Goddamn, I have neglected proper service for too long. And I am too lacking in time to properly service it myself. Fortunately, my piece is not so sacrosanct that I need worry much that I am neglecting an irreplaceable heirloom.

They are tools. They move air and/or electrons. I use them to make noises that appeal to people.
