When those occasions do happen, I'd do my best to make sure there's something new uploaded for you to share. That way you can get it started and ensure there's something to show folks that it can be done.
Of course, there's also a ton of stuff in the archives, from myself and other people. Many of the thread visitors are new and won't actually be familiar with them. So, there's some room there too.
I've already sorta volunteered you with talking about it with crazy. I'm going to ask @mrharryreems to take away my [M] and make me an [O] just so I can make you a mod and you can sticky stuff. Then, I'll have the ability to do that in the future without needing to rely on him. With the sub gaining popularity, it's absolutely a good idea to have at least two folks who can make those changes. As an [M], I can only set you as a janitor or submitter. Neither of those confer sticking ability and I'm not even sure if janitor lets you remove spam comments. I don't actually know. I've never been a janitor for a sub!
I didn't think you'd mind and I suspect you'll like it even more when you're the submitter. It's sooooo much easier when you get notifications for new comments to the thread! With it s busy now, that's a nice benefit! I should try the crazy method, when I'm not the submitter. He sorts by new.
Side note: It was me who suggested the sort by new/old for thread viewing. That was the first feature I asked for that was added to Voat. The second one was stickying the thread and I'm so counting that as a feature!
That's a good idea about using the archives. Seeing how it would mean both you and crazy would be absent, that would be available if/when the thread slows. I can also make up a lot of false rumors about you two because by the time you get back and refute them the others will have moved on. ;)
Be careful about letting people see how you're intricately involved in developing V and it's features. There are the ongoing questions about the identity of the secret donor/supporter. (see how easy it will be?)
I've had quite a few PMs accusing/asking me if I'm the Voat angel.
And, there's tons of stuff in our archives now. I bet there's quite a few hours worth. Shit, you could regularly share some of your favorites from the archives, even if we're all active in the thread. 'Snot like anyone can fire you!
I still have stuff here that needs to get into the archives. I try it remember to share some, if I've not already shared a bunch.
One of these weeks, I'll have to do another showing off thread. Either way, I'll try to always make sure I've got something new for you to share on those weeks. Worst case, it'll be something quick and dirty like last week. Amusingly enough, nobody asked. It was faded out abruptly and awkwardly 'cause that ended when I fucked up. ;-)
Also, EH has changed all the settings in Audacity. She didn't do last week's recording and mixing for me. I had a hell of a time figuring it out. All the defaults are different. It doesn't even look the same. She's added plugins and really screwed with it.
Oh! Hah!
Last week, @clamhurt_legbeard mentioned he used Vocaroo because it didn't like the extension/file type at Instaud.io. If you are REALLY hell bent on resolving that, I have a solution!
Install Audacity. Open the file with Audacity. Top left menu button, export as MP3. Then, you can upload it to an Instaudio account named VoatArchives, or whatever.
However, that's way more effort than anyone wants to do. But, if you're hellbent on archiving, that's probably the path of least resistance. It's quick and easy. You just export it as mp3 and don't bother even saving the project. It takes a little while to save it as the new file type, but it's fairly speedy on my systems. I do that for nadeshda sometimes.
