Lizard folk lore from DND is basically the native tribes history.
A sentient race with a focus on a warrior-hunter/gatherer society. They have an affinity for their own tribe and refuse to band together to form mass armies. They have major differences and wars between tribes constantly. They promote aggression and condemn intelligence. The intelligent lizard folk are ostracized or made into shaman, who aren’t allowed to reproduce, not that any female would, because thinking is viewed as a hinderance to hunting and breeding, which require little thought.
I could go on, but I won’t.
