Could this argument be used for prostitution? I've heard a side supporting it once and it actually sounded interesting. Any thoughts on for or against?

We already have legal cathouses. They do well, they gain a lot of money for taxes, the women are taken care of and usually happy and healthy. There's probably studhouses too. I'm for it even if I don't plan on using or agreeing with it. If the road block is moral disagreement than I'm even more for it. I mean, I don't like boybands about as much as someone might not like legal prostitution but I'll never fight to disallow it. Any real argument against it in this case would be a problem that stems from it being illegal.

This is why the war on drugs only encourages drug use.

This is why gun control doesn't lower gun crime but raises it.

Oh no, you can't use those. Those countries aren't 'murka and they obviously are different enough that it's not comparable.

Though, seriously, adding gun control to somewhere that had little is different from somewhere that has had it for a long time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Assault_Weapons_Ban#Studies_on_effects_of_the_legislation

When the Federal Assault Weapons ban expired in 2004, gun crime went down.

in the post-ban period, the same group of guns has constituted 3.1% of ATF traces, a decline of 45%

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state

The state (or district, rather) with the highest gun crime has only 3.6% gun ownership. Washington DC.

The state with the lowest gun crime has 42% gun ownership. Vermont.

The state with the highest gun ownership is in the bottom 10 states in gun violence. Wyoming.

Gun ownership is obviously legal gun ownership. If this doesn't make it exceedingly clear to you that increased gun control raises gun crime, I'm not sure what will.

Yeah, I mean that depends on your idea of "effective" though. The status quo is most effective at letting powerful people remove poor people from their homes and lives, and throw them away in trash jail. So really, someone wants things the way they are. It's just someone who is really terrible.
