-
Please refrain from shower "observations;" we've heard them all before
-
Ideas for Voat features should be posted in /v/ideasforvoat, even if you think of them while in the shower
The spirit of this subverse's rules is to foster a community where dissent, free thought, and open discussion are tolerated, limited only to trolling, excessive abuse, site-breaking rules, or content that is better suited for another subverse. I run sometimes with a guy who is kind-of liberal and we talked about that latest Swedish documentary about the ancient human migration (the one with the black guy with blue eyes on the promo).
What came clear to me as we talked about evolution and the different races, is that he celebrates similarities between the races, whereas I am taken-in by the differences.
So many people look at the cantina scene in Star Wars and think why can't we live in a world like this, without realising that we already do (albeit, less polarised), and it's pretty cool.
For the record, the guy with whom I run is pretty cool and we have good chats even though we often don't agree on many subjects. It's refreshing to have a real-life conversation like this outside of Voat; they are getting rarer.
