Nor the literal definition of 'rewind.' Or why a floppy disc is the save symbol.

Holy shit!! Two fold...
First-- I tell kids to 'rewind' and start again when they are running or being ridiculous. Do they have any idea what I mean?
Second-- I am now in a VERY heated conversation with my SO about whether the term 'rewind' has significance in this day and age. I don't think so, they disagree. Strongly disagree.

Well, rewind still exists on remotes and DVR's, and I can see the live rewind useful sometimes for sports but I would agree it is nowhere near as prevalant as when VHS and cassettes were everywhere. All audio is digital and most devices and websites have "Replay" instead of rewind...I am curious as to your SO's disagreement.
