First off, a lot of schools don't use chalk anymore.

Second, a lot of those backpacks are gifts from charities and communities for children who need a lot of supplies.

And lastly - anyone who would agree with this, or think like this, is a waste of fucking skin and shouldn't have gone to school anyway. Money was wasted trying to teach you. Your shitty parent(s) should have to pay the state and fed back for the money they spent for you to occupy a classroom.

School is meant to teach you the basics and help inspire you towards whatever you think you want to do with yourself when you grow up. It's become standardized and dumbed down so that a healthy, intelligent child is only as smart or as fast as the unhealthiest, least intelligent child, but it is still the starting point to allow children time to learn and be children.

Morons who think school is such a terrible place for them to waste their day should have to go get a job. Homework and classwork in a room with your peers are too hard for your brain to handle? Sure thing - we need highways and beaches cleaned. We need meat and vegetable farmers. The world is your oyster, you little shit, so don't let school hold you back. /smh

What do remember from grades 7-12? Is it anything you could not learn from one year online? The vast majority of my school work was reading. I don't know if you know this, but books aren't exclusive to schools. Abraham Lincoln had less than one year of formal schooling. He read books to become a lawyer.

School != Education

What schools teach are factory worker social norms. Line up, respond to bells, sit down, do your piece work, eat lunch quickly, listen to arbitrary authority, and don't go pee unless we give you permission.

You may have needed it, but I sure didn't.

You made my point for me.

I think you needed it more than you realize.

Yes. Those are the years of socializing and mild exposure to real world issues. Where you learn just because you wish your acne and fat would go away doesn't make it happen. Where you are supposed to start realizing the world isn't fair and someday you are going to have to feed and clothe and dress YOURSELF, without anyone carrying you.

We don't live in the socialist country you are describing, and a lot of us are fighting not to. I'm so sorry your snowflake ass has to follow rules in the publicly funded building the community is paying for so you can fucking read and write and get a job and give back to the community the way it tried to give to you. You're so unique and special. No kid ever whined about having to go to school. And no adult ever whined about having to go to work.

What is happening in our world where people have to do things they don't want to do to eat and have shelter? What a world! What a world!

No one gives two shits about you beyond what you are able to give back. No one. It's being human. Complaining about having a schedule and having to follow directions while you are a child instead of getting a job to help support your family is a privilege that children in other countries don't have, so stop acting like a spoiled little baby.

Also? You are the point. The people bringing down the class average tend to be the ones whining about how school sucks.
