Chick-Fil-A is slightly immune to this. All of their employees are forced to use something resembling manners.

It wasn't a Chick-Fil-A. thats always my choice, wife's too. They employ white adults, for the most part, and are not forced to use manners, they just have them.

To me, it seemed as though manners was part of the company image, and employees were expected to maintain it. Perhaps it's just due to the low expectations I have from every other service/retail industry chain.
