The loan has already been processed if one is enrolled and in a classroom. Are you retarded? The refund could pay back the principal and relieve the taxpayers. One could work more hours if not visiting a classroom several times a week.

The idea is to pay your loans back and build credit. Good credit can get you a leg up early in life by helping you get a reliable car or a decent apartment in a neighborhood near employment. The loan can be a type of springboard that the education might have been.
It's about inconvenience, but not just inconvenience. Some of that shit was downright terrifying. I can honestly say I would have no idea what to do in that situation. They aren't touching me, really hurting me, I don't know that I can't leave, I just know I was there first and doing school stuff and shouldn't have to leave while these spoiled little bitches cry for attention. And on and on...
What a fucking headache. You should get reimbursed for that headache. You know why.
As far as the tax payers paying into education, I'm of the belief that if the government is paying for it then it should fall into qualifying categories like STEM, farming/husbandry, etc. - things that benefit everyone, because everyone is paying for the education. That does not mean programs without art, and language, and music, etc., but the degrees the state is willing to pay for can't be The Study Of-something non producing, like women's lit or the history of one culture or another. Those are personal achievement degrees, and if you want them you pay for them yourself. It's personal achievement. You do it for you. Like a grown up willing to dump money into a hole for a personal passion.
