Yes i was in a very large data center for a global company. A company with literally thousands of servers under that single roof. And then there was the mainframe. And it was worked on for a long time. You do not have the slightest idea wtf youre talking about. Go back to the geek squad. You can see others in this thread w the same experience. Just shut the fuck up.

Ah I see. So your brain trust working on a main frame that had not been maintained nor up dated were caught with their collective paints/skirts down around their ankles and had trouble doing the updates they should have done two years in the past (1998) and couldn't get the kernel to compile. Then because of that and that they hadn't realize that the terminal clients need to be patches and or upgraded. Then there was that pesky switch over to Ethernet that had been put off because the admin didn't want to spend the time and effort to do that implantation. Tho I am sure the senior programmer and the Main frame admin didn't put that in the report to management. Yeah I have no clue, sure why not, I don't know a thing.
