agreed I think AI and automation will bring about the second industrial revolution. vastly increasing our productivity and our standard of living.

They're exploring universal basic income BECAUSE the threat of AI replacing humans is so imminent and real. When we move to a system where everyone gets a fixed income, no one will be able to move up the socioeconomic ladder, and whoever happens to be at the top when AI proliferates will likely stay there for perpetuity.

This be in right here. The elites place in the world isn't as solidified as they would like so they want to delay any major revolution.
In fact us manual laboring plebs aren't the ones in danger of losing everything, they are. Governments can be replaced by an decentralized administrative AI and so can banking systems. They are redundant and they are scared.

If you actually interact with AIs for a bit you pretty quickly learn that they're not scary at all.
