Am I the only one that didn't mind the voting limit?

Well it has made me much more active on Voat then I ever was on reddit, which makes sense with the current number of users. In the case of Voat getting as big as Reddit though, where most of the opinions have already been stated and most content has already been posted. A 100 comment votes seems a bit high to me.

Am I the only one who gets sadistic pleasures from seeing the new Voaters, filled with frustration, go through the same process of genuine concern that the limits are a terrible idea and make elaborate posts on /v/ideasforvote about it?

Now have more than enough karma to avoid the vote limits.

Still think they are a terrible idea.

I think it's a great idea.

It definitely seems to be working as well. And as the user Base expands I can see the need for it dropping some, to maybe up voats equalling CCP instead of being half that amount. But that'll be a long way off yet as voats still relatively small.

I can't imagine a lot of people doing that. In the end if people do not agree that certain content deserves a spot on the frontpage for example because it's boring, doesn't fit in the subverse or have seen it a hundred times. Do they really have to justify it with a comment? Especially it being the 10,000th comment and the 50th stating the same thing?

You mean to tell me I'm supposed to actually contribute to the community? This house is a prison on planet bullshit!

I disagree. I passed my 100 points today and still think it is an unnecessary limitation.

I like it. I'm not even here a week though so take that how you will. It enforces the if you don;t have anything nice to say don't say anything at all mentality with voating for a while. Rather then just downvoat someone you have to get in there an say "hay man I disagree..." and see if you get support or not. After a while though you no longer have to do that you can just hit em with a downvoat.

I understand that, but I think there are better ways to deal with "I disagree"-downvotes.

I like how it prevents users from just creating either throwaway and brigade other subs

Someone has come into the thread and downvoted most comments.

It's kinda funny to see all of the posts about the limits. I showed up before the great migration, so I barely noticed.

And then the Fattening happened. And now this place is 100 times better :)

I prefer to think more on the optimistic side. Reddit's pretty shitty, and people are mentioning Voat more over there.

Only downvotes should have a limit.
