Venus is more likely, it being in the goldielocks zone and all.

venus is giant solar powered sulfuric acid-lead battery, we would only need very long wires and have infinite charging!

This is evidence that goldielocks zone isn't so goldielocks. When you expand the drake equation all the way including habitable galactic zone and the existence of a jupiter to organize all the debre, you get current intelegent and communicating life at about once per galaxy. Shit aint so nice out there no matter how much science communicators want to tell you it is just to get your imagination going (and support for govt dollars flowing).

We are just a planet colonized by phone sanitizers.

Maybe we left Proxima Centauri for Mars, and Mars for Earth?

All this has happened before, and all this will happen again... again... again...

Great idea, actually. We'll be in pretty dire need of the space once we finally get back there, so it'll work out nicely for us. For the civilization that stayed behind, mutating for millions of years, and feeling somewhat resentful, the idea of our return will have mixed reviews...

He'd censor anyone who got in the way of his profits!

That would make a good SciFi movie, unfortunately (((holywood))) is too busy doing more dumb super hero movies...

I like super hero movies! But you are right in saying that they are neglecting the other kinds. Still, I think remakes are the worse trend right now.

Idk man, they did the Martian. That might open up doors. (And yes I read the book and know the movie was rushed to hell and back).

Hahaha, I think there are lots of fun thoughts like those. What's the most shocking thing we could find on Mars? A fallout bunker.

I think it's rather improbable but it makes for some great sci fi if there was only some creativity left in Hollywood.

They will find a piece of a craft with "SS MINNOW" painted on it.
