I agree, but he does have a point in that most language is used to exchange thoughts and concepts, which is a way to understand someone's mind, the connections they've built and the way they think.
Programming code can be thought of similarly, a program is an expression of an idea in concrete terms. Code is structured and limited so that it can be executed on a computer and I don't forsee it lasting much past the invention of true AI. Even with the deep learning progress we've seen recently, code is only used to write a benefit evaluation function and set up the neural net. The actual function of the program is learned by repeated association of posistive benefits with patterned input data.
