If he had responded to 9/11 with overwhelming force, as was proper, we wouldn't be in this shit today. He made the same mistake that previous Presidents made: limited warfare. The United States has more military power than most of the rest of the world combined; there's no reason we should still be fighting in any of these countries.

In fact, there's no reason any of these countries should still be countries. Most of them should be smoking craters; memorials in their own right. Groups shouldn't be clamoring to claim responsibility for a terrorist act on American soil; they should be rushing to be the first to say "not me." The world needs to fear American military might again... these days, we're a fucking joke.

The American populace can't handle a real war, which will be a real problem at some point.

Step one: No embedded news crews. Ever.

Agreed. There are too many Beta males running around to make an effective draft. Could you imagine? All the tight leg pants wearing baristas running around with military grade firearms? My BIL fought in one of the worst battles in Afganistan. I can tell you, that mother effer is a bad ass. My husband was caught in Arab Springs and had to hide in office buildings for two days under military protection to get back to his ship (merchant mariner -government contractor). Also a bad ass. The guy who makes art out of my frappachino cream while lecturing me on diversity - not a badass. Also important to note, the two men who have actually been in the Muslim world are screaming from the rooftops that we need to protect ourselves. I'm tending to listen.

You cannot fight an effective war to be victorious and also look good on television being recorded 24/7 doing it. They need to get the cameras out of there and go take care of business.

Translation: You need to let us torture and kill folks who had nothing to do with 9/11 so we can take their oil and put Walmart stores in their back yards.

Yeah, so you can fight dirty and get shit done.

However, everyone has a camera these days.

Stop caring. This is war. We're there to kill people; not make friends. We kill people until they either A) stop fighting or B) there are no more people to kill. There's no way to gussy that up for television without lying, so just don't try. You may be portrayed as a monster by contemporary news, but history is the real judge of character.

The mistake he made was attacking a country that was actively suppressing the group of extremists that are now ISIS, because Suadi Arabia, the home, sanctuary and wellspring of modern Islamic fundamentalism is our """"ally""""

Invading the wrong country wasn't the best idea either

Just wow. I can only imagine the reaction if George Bush deliberately hid the involvement of allied states in the 9/11 attacks. Oh wait, that happened. He deliberately hid the involvement of both Saudi Arabian and Israeli intelligence services and lied that it was carried out by lone Muslim radicals.

Then he (and his party) kept lying. For fifteen years.

Hey man. Don't you realize Republicans can do no wrong in the eyes of voat? It's always the other side's fault - everything.

Praise regan, may his bounty trickle down upon us.

Some people on voat are smart enough to realize that "democrat" and "republican" are two sides of the same coin

I remember seeing a couple weeks ago highly rated posts about Saudi Arabia's involvement in 9/11. But blaming the US openly and secretly protecting our enemies are different things. Both treasonous, but different. So I think OP is being reasonable for asking this question and not grouping both things in together.

It's the same with most of the internet. Since these fuckers are Nazis anyway, they're trying (quite successfully as you can see) to hijack the internet and make it a recruiting tool. All I see on Voat and Reddit, day in day out, is Republican and/or Zionist spam upvoted to the front page.

He was warned by the CIA, three months in advance, something was going to happen, yet he did nothing.

The difference in loss of life between the two is vast. You know bush would have been impeached or assassinated.
