Cursed I would have been, a thousand times
From several birds, sitting in unique lines
Surrounding the lifeless, dead sparrow
Yet being quiet and still in cage so narrow
Small, the cage never was for all I know
But a mighty dwelling for all the birds to grow
The nightingale did once sang a melodious tune
With many birds dancing, as the moon shone
Stranger day was today, with death like silence
Freedom was what their pearl eyes wanted I guess
Haven't I given food to them in abundance?
Or an enormous cage to live and progress?
With swift of time, I fell from a sudden blow
From where it came, I could never know
As I laid, I witnessed some truth which I'll share
A leader commanding, for a cave to prepare
But no digger dug, for they stood still
Flowing silent tears for the numb child
Who did work against his fathers will
And met death, as he slightly smiled
But the heartless leader struck them hard
Work he wanted, as death was to him of no regard
Oh leader! Don't you see their hope is lost
Once they escape, hunted you will be at any cost
A sweet song was heard, due to which I awoke
And there my dead sparrow stood, as I earlier spoke
The dream I had, made some good in me
And in flash, I stood and made my birds free
They flew here and there, yet delighted was I more
And now their song, in my heart I bore
Enlightens my vision of my ruler here
Who loves nothing but glory and fame to hear
My own country he did change into dungeon
Yet my tears and prayers must go upon
And change the way it had been all along
So I can sing a better, joyful song
