After reading more about this than I want to admit and a lot of thinking. I think it is more @Atko doesn't want a default sub that can't handle crowd control. I say this because of this line "Moderators need to calm their tits and focus on nurturing and growing their communities." It doesn't help a community and only spreads fear when a post that is hours old and on the front page gets deleted because it broke a rule about punctuation. At that point it would have been more prudent to give a warning to the user and then make a sticky post in the forum reiterating the need to follow said rule while listing the reasons instead of deleting it.

With a lot of users coming from reddit due to posts getting removed left and right the newer users are a bit more apt to get irritated when something like this happens than they normally would have. For many of them over moderation is what killed their experience. Voat is billing itself as the opposite right now and this didn't help at all.

The rules of this subverse seem to be very spot on and not really questionable. The reason why I find the "your post must end with a questionmark" a questionable rule is because people sometimes forget punctuation, especially if your posting from a phone, and never realize it till hours later so it is very easy to break. The mods here also understand that sometimes the rules can be bent if the community really wants the content which is something v/askvoat didn't do in this situation.

It's important, again, to point out that the "crowd control" issue is there are definitely groups of people working together to control the narratives being told. Look at my commentary, look at the sudden surge of downvotes and upvotes on people we know are trolling (and admit to it in quotated text). We not only need a discussion about this, we need some functional way to fight against it, to actively ban people doing this. Look at the downvotes on Nurdoidz in this thread. These are not downvotes native to SeriousDiscussion - these are people coming here to specifically control the narrative by burying comments they disagree with.

If you accept some constructive criticism, it looks to me that you're too much banhammer happy. People will downvote in disagreement. It sucks, but they will. Also, you're not even considering that people downvoting could be regular Joe users like myself, that are not concerned about all this drama and just want it to stop. I didn't downvote any comment or post in this sub, but some people are not so careful with downvotes.

Edit: markdown

Edit again. Changed are to could be, when I put the possibility of spontaneous downvotes by common users.

Your downvote are because your comments do not contribute to the conversation. Your lies DO NOT CONTRIBUTE.

And how the fuck you Mr sherlock know we are trolling? I personally found it here through few other links. Never heard of this subreddit before but very aware of the censorship certain mods mentioned in this tread are doing and that seriously should be stopped. People who love this kindof behavior though, fuck of back to reddit, you're in heaven there. And yes, I did downvote you for accusing people as brigardes and demanding they have to be banned simply because they don't admit to your bullshit way of seeing things, did it ever occur to you that people perhaps don't LIKE your way of seeing things? (you're most likely doing it with an certain agenda though, so it's understandable or are you just the drama droll here?). I'm just an ordinary user and NSFW mod myself, been doing it for years in reddit but I can't support that bullshit what they have going on over here so I left. But it seems reddit is like a heaven for you and your views so what are you doing in here?
