I've had dogs pretty much my whole life. They can be a pain in the ass at times like if you want or need to travel. I don't trust anyone with looking after my dogs. They get used to you and you get used to them. The hardest part is when you have to say goodbye. It takes a piece of your soul when they're gone. And yes, they can be expensive but to me it's so worth it. Never a better friend you will have.

Any pet is a joy in my opinion. A house is not a home without at least 1 pet. My pet (chinchilla) is 17 years old. He's my best buddy and one of the best things that ever happened to me. Volunteering is a great idea.
