An alternative for those who prefer to be the only party that has their pass:

Post a checksum of a secret phrase.

Later on, the only thing it takes to prove who you are, is to post the plaintext and anyone can verify it is you by getting the checksum of the plaintext.

More like this should be the only solution, and I'd go with multiple hashes to be safe actually.

They're not gonna pull out that tech for individual users.

If they're gonna go to that length then they'll just break into your house when you're not home.
