Archived Energy Nodes (SavageGods)

Birr had, yet again, lost himself in though. In this comatose-like state he had inadvertently turned into one of the things he had been thinking about.

To any observer, he looked like a large black 3x3 rectangular monolith that spanned into the ground 3 meters and into the sky another 7.

(3x3x10m)

This monolith appeared to have runes of some sort etched on the sides and, had any seen it, sentient being would try to guess what they meant. The writing simply read "The joke is on you, poor thing. This is all these runes mean. These few sentences. They look pretty cool though don't they? Also, this is to be called a 'Node' in case you come up with a different name. If you did your name is wrong. And probably sucked anyway."

These Nodes would be a base for other creations that Birr had in store for Ebos as well as maybe useful for the other presences Birr knew were present in this world's frigid pantheon.

The Nodes would each have a small reserve of godly energy at all times as well as the ability to absorb other types of energy from the environment. This absorbed energy would be able to be altered in whatever way those in control of the Node wanted.

Each Node would also be linked to the nearest 4 other Nodes allowing communication between users of the Nodes as well as the transfer of energy between the nodes themselves. this way, if a Node was brought to a point where it would be below the threshold of minimum energy, it would absorb energy from the other Nodes, this way it would be very difficult to destroy them. Each Node would also be given the ability to slowly adapt to the needs of its user over a long period of time, but those using it would also slowly become somewhat dependent on the Node.

Birr created and placed one of these Nodes in every one of the cities he helped create as well as one at the south pole, the larger volcanic island, and in the crater near the Grand Furnace.

Nodes +5 Domains +1 Flow of Energy
Special Rule Description
Absorption Can absorb energy from its surroundings
Dispersion Can disperse energy to its surroundings
Communication Maintains a link with the nearest 4 Nodes
Transfer Can transfer energy to or through the nearest 4 Nodes
Storage Can store seemingly infinite amounts of energy within

Snow.

A figure lay face down in a field, covered in a thick layer of snow.

To any who may have passed it, it was just another death due to the Harrowing Blight, but to those that knew things, some sort of great power was emanating from it.

The figure stirred for the first time in a while and suddenly all the snow in a 500M radius melted and was absorbed into the ground and plants.

Birr sat up and produced a cup of energy rich tea and sipped on it while he finished regaining consciousness.

"Uuuggghh."

He'd fallen back asleep after flying away from the crater he made a few weeks ago.

He watched as a group of Erodons flew over and a few Tannsgrisnir ran by.

This had happened once before as well. He'd woken due to sensing a few new presences but, he'd fallen asleep soon after.

Birr finished his tea and stood up with an idea in mind.

He thought of being of energy, freely flowing through the world, occasionally hitching rides on animal or other sentient beings.

He experimented with creating a small barrier in his hand, putting energy in it, and imbuing it with a tiny amount of sentience then watching what happened.

These creatures would fly small distances and dissipate.

This idea needed more thought, but he could come back to it later.

In the mean time, he would work on other ideas and see how those panned out.

Basically I'm still getting back in to the swing of things here so maybe I'll be posting slightly more often now.

Ebos was a strange world.

Everywhere, there were signs of life, great cities loomed over the vast, empty landscape. Many trunks, long since frozen solid and encrusted in ice, littered the landscape, suggesting the presence of vibrant forests, and the ecosystem that accompany them, not that long ago. Settlements littered the landscape, hinting at the civilizations that they shelter.

Yet despite all these signs, Ebos was not vibrant, it was not lively.

Nearly all of Ebos was frozen in time, a single moment preserved for all eternity, so that none could tell if only a single moment or many millennia had passed.

Through it all, The Silent wept, for the world was unspeakably tragic, yet hauntingly beautiful.

A world of endless, yet wasted potential lay beneath a barrier of ice, countless ambitions, perhaps in harmony, perhaps in conflict, were brought to a stiffing halt by the endless winter. Such wasted potential was a travesty to behold.

Yet so too was disrupting a world of perfect silence and perfect harmony. Perhaps, The Silent One thought, the world should be left in eternal frost, preserved in the everlasting moment. After all, this was the end goal of some unseen ambition.

The Silent contemplated, torn between its natures, for an eternity that was a moment.

It would not do to leave the world in stillness. Silence, without sound, lacked meaning. Without the living forces of Ebos, The Silent One lacked meaning. The Silent One would test the waters, he would prod the sleeping world to see if the invisible hands that have guided it were awake.

The Seraphim hide an intricate and fragile clockwork interior under a smooth shell. Constantly hovering several feet above the ground, Seraphs hide various mechanical components, such as arms inside their chassis and only expose them when in use. Given sufficient materials, especially metal components, Seraphs are capable of working raw materials for the purpose of self-replication, but lack the knowledge to apply this capability to other endeavors. Seraphs may also create sigils of silence, deadening all sound locally, or rendering a specific target incapable of making sound for as long as the sigil remains.

Seraphs are exceptionally loyal not to individuals, but to ideas. Each Seraph follows a 'prime directive' which informs its actions. Seraphs following the same directive may collaborate or compete, and Seraphs following different directives may set aside their differences for a common interest, or find themselves embroiled in conflict with groups of opposing goals. As such, Seraphs will attempt to further the advancement of the prime objective, even if it means that subterfuge and betrayal are required.

Seraphs are also adaptive creatures that may incorporate technological advancements into themselves, gaining additional abilities and specializing in order to better serve their prime directive. In order to encourage specialization, Seraphs are innately curious and inquisitive, seeking out knowledge in all its forms in order to better understand the world and complete the prime directives. As the specialize, they may also change their forms to better serve their purpose.

The Silent One placed a single Seraph upon Ebos, and gave it a single directive. Investigate the cause of the frost, and if possible reverse it. In the meantime, gather information about Ebos and its inhabitants, including characteristics and weaknesses. The intricacies of its construction made creating a large quantity of Seraphs difficult for the time being, as The Silent One was weakened by the frozen world.

Perhaps the injection of a single point of ambition may bring the world to life again.

Race Seraph
Savagery +16 sv, +1 Creation, +3 Domain (Ambition, Plots, Silence)
Special Rules Description
Self Propagation Given sufficient resources, may construct other Seraphs
Hover Automatically and inexplicably hover a few feet above the ground for locomotion
Thirst for Knowledge Will attempt to attain information in all its forms
Prime Directive Each Seraph is loyal to a Prime Directive that governs its actions. Prime directives may change and even be created
Technological Evolution By incorporating technologies, Seraphs may alter their forms and gain additional abilities
Sigil of Silence Seraphs may create and place sigils of silence, which heavily dampens sound in a particular area if placed on an inanimate object, or renders a target incapable of making sound if placed on a creature or sentient entity.
Silencing field Seraphs may create a field of absolute silence in the area around them, preventing any sound from being made or heard in a 10 m radius. This ability may be deactivated.

Confusion overwhelmed The Silent One.

Surely It existed, else It could not be confused, yet what It was and where It was were questions that had no answer. In short, the only certainty seemed to be that The Silent One existed, but had no other attributes. Such an arrangement was... Unpleasant, Uncomfortable, Undesirable.

A change of pace was in order, The Silent One reached into non-existence, and tugged hard at the fabric of reality. Tearing away at the nothingness, The Silent ripped a realm out of non-existence.

The realm consisted of a single point, filled with limitless potential. To enter the realm was to BECOME the realm, to merge with the point that comprised the entirety of the home of The Silent One. Hence, The Silent One would name it The Unity.

Yet a world so far removed from Ebos would be inhospitable to any who lived on the surface. So the Silent would alter it, whoever enters The Unity, and merges with both the realm and The Silent One, would see the realm shaped in the fulfillment of their greatest ambitions. The point would expand into familiar dimensions, and create a world fitted to the desire of the inhabitant. Once a being is sufficiently accommodated to the realm, it may then alter the created world at will, creating possibilities to simulate the expected outcome of certain plans.

Yet a home would be nothing without an egress. The Silent One expended more of his essence, and drew into existence a Strange Card. The Card would serve as an entrance to the Unity, and as a carrier for the will of The Silent One. Any being, as long as it had unfulfilled ambitions and a desire for an audience with The Silent One, would always be able to find the card nearby.

Creation The Unity
Savagery +6 sv, +1 Creation, (+3 Domain: Silence, Ambition, Plots)
Special Rules
Unity of Dimension In the rest state, exists as a single point. Time does not pass within The Unity, thus any being entering The Unity can leave The Unity and reappear on Ebos at any moment in time after they entered The Unity, regardless of how much time passed in The Unity
Unity of Being When a being enters The Unity, it is Bound to the Unity and merges with it (hence referred to as the Bound). As long as a being is bound it shares its savagery value with The Unity (Equal to the sum of the savagery of The Unity and of the being)
Unitary Only one Bound can exist at one moment in time
Unity of Action When inside The Unity, a being can have no influence outside The Unity. Any alterations to The Unity costs no Savagery while inside The Unity, unless they change the fundamental nature of The Unity
Unity of Thought The Unity, upon merging with the Bound, reshapes itself in accordance with the ambitions and desires of the Bound. This action is unconscious unless the Bound has accommodated itself to The Unity
Curse of Silence The Unity gradually loses ability to replicate any sound while there is a Bound, until The Bound exits The Unity
Unity of Purpose At the end of each age, The Unity gains one sv for each Bound it had in that age, plus one.
Unity of Existence The Silent One has an unique connection to The Unity. Any being bound to The Unity is also bound to The Silent One, allowing communication and access. The Silent One does not count as The Bound for any of the above effects.
Spirit Refuge Any being that exhausts its can bind with The Unity just prior to exhausting its
Self Binding The Silent One may seal off The Unity and bind with The Unity, while this occurs The Unity can have no other Bound
Creation Strange Card
Savagery +3 sv, +1 Creation, (+3 Domain {Silence, Ambition, Plots})
Special Rules
Seeker of Ambition If a sentient being wishes to find the card, the Strange Card will appear in a nearby location
Silencing Aura A field of unnatural silence (25m radius) surrounds the card
Instrument of Fate Any god or demigod can willfully relocate the Strange Card for their own purposes
Gateway The Holder of the Strange Card may bind with The Unity

submitted 5 months ago by NobleParadox to SavageGods (+6|-0)

Introduction

As long as there is sentience, there will be want. Want for that which one does not have. A constant strive to progress, to become something one is not, to become greater, to gain more power. Such is the nature of sentience, that it is bound to ambition. To overcome all obstacles, to overcome even one another. To uplift, or to dominate, all is the nature of ambition.

That cesspool of ambition from Ebos gave birth to an entity.

Weak and disoriented, The Silent One gazed towards the old world, and resolved to reshape it in its image.

Personality

... Is initially naive and trusting, and above all curious. It seeks merely to witness and facilitate the ambitions of mortal races and other deities. To witness ambitions and plots join together towards a common goal is a form of beauty, and the conflict of clashing ambitions is another.

Under the naievity, however, hides a certain ruthlessness. The Silent One's determination is unbound, and will stop at very little to achieve its goals, whatever they may be. The Silent One has little loyalty and holds no grudges, but remembers who can or cannot be trusted to uphold their bargains.

Aspirations

... Wishes to see a world consumed by ambition, either in collaboration of conflict. It wishes to preserve a constant strive towards achievement, and despises stasis and complacency. As long as the world is changing due to the will of individuals, The Silent One is content.

Yet the greater the ambitions, the greater the satisfaction. To give voice to the silent and render the powerful mute is much more interesting than the great becoming greater. Ultimately, The Silent One wishes to create a world where all can strive to fulfill their ambitions.

Claim ... (The Silent One)
Domains Explanation
Silence The Absence of Sound, to render incapable of making sound
Ambition The Strive to Achieve, a desire to reach some goal
Plot Scheming, especially secretive kinds

submitted 5 months ago by Mindbender4 to SavageGods (+7|-0)

  • discuss

Introduction

Hamish was born thousands of years ago as a demigod. His father was a god, a fearless god, everyone worshiped him. Though thats all his mum tells him about his dad and had brought up the name for his dad The Forgotten. He still wonders to this day what or who he was. His mother though was your normal and ordinary mum, she was the best thing in his life.

As a child Hamish never had any friends at school and had trouble talking to people. He was getting bullied everywhere he went. He started gaining stress and fear of going outside that he stayed in his room all the time. Then at that one night he ended up shooting himself on his bed. His mother heard and tried getting inside his room though the door was locked. She ended up getting in his room to see that there's nothing there no blood, nothing, not even him. That was the last she saw of him.

You wonder where he was. He was taken somewhere, he doesn't remember where it was. The person who woke him up had a mask over him, there was no way of knowing who he was. He was reborn, not as a demigod, but as a god, god of stress. To this day Hamish wonders if it was The Forgotten.

Personality

A god that will kill anyone who disobeys and do revenge on people who did him wrong in the past. He was very antisocial and one to not get along with.

He is very loyal to friends and kills anyone who will do wrong to them. When he thinks about his mum, he goes innocent and wishes he could see her again.

Aspirations

He had spent all his life looking for his dad and starts wars on whoever stops him. He was reborn as a very strong god and whoever gave it to him, gave him heaps of power.

Domains Explanation
Stress He gives stress to people out of nowhere and gives them anger.
Fear Makes people fearful and weak of him when he wants to.
Projection Can turn people onto others, even friends and family.

Birr stirred from his slumber and began to view what events took place in his absence.

Not much. Hmm. This does not bode well.

Time to fix that.

Birr heard a creaking noise as he moved about the realm of rest. This annoyed him so but it would pass as things do.

Time to rejoin those actually doing things.

He opened the portal back to the regular realm and stepped through.

Problem. He forgot where he placed the realm and its door.

Birr began his quick decent from orbit but could not be bothered to slow it. These things happen when you sleep in a high place.

"Welp. Might as well put my self in a spin because why not"

And so he spun himself as he fell.

To those who may have seen this spectacle, it would appear a fireball was flying towards the ground. A beacon of sorts.

A sky-whale and numerous other wildlife were disintegrated, as they passed too close to Birr.

He finally makes landfall, wiping out a few square kilometers of ground.

"Ugh. I'll fix this eventually but not now. For now it'll be a warm place for people and wildlife to live I guess."

Birr created a furnace of sorts in the center of the crater that would radiate heat for a good distance around giving valuable energy to the world.

He lands at grid squares O-P,10-11 (2x2 square)

As he moved away from the crater, Birr noticed his creaking had stopped. Wonderful.

The Grand Furnace 2 +2 Domains: Flow of Energy, Creation / Destruction of Energy
Natural heating The World around this point is warm enough for plants to grow.
This furnace can be controlled and harnessed for mortal purposes.

creation Archived The Merth which existed for a long time (shifty eyes) (SavageGods)

submitted 6 months ago by Dumb_Comment_Bot to SavageGods (+8|-0)

"Yes thats right, this species was around for a long time, we just didn't talk about them." Desporus concluded. The other gods were rightfully suspicious. Desporus in fact created them all the night before, cities and history and memories intact. The other creatures of Ebos simply decided that they must have been hiding for a long long time.

The Merth were supposed to the perfect death cultists, worshiping Desporus as they bred and slaughtered the rest of the life on Ebos, finally ending it with a glorious purge of themselves. Or so he thought when he made them. In reality they were simply malevolent and mischievous and rarely agreed on anything. Their society was continually rebuilt more and more corrupt with tyrant slaying the previous tyrant and building a glorious army that eventually died in the hillsides somewhere from neglect. The Merth were selfish and greedy beyond all measure. But they were relatively smart and could be, if convinced, so dedicated to a cause that no obstacle could stop their sheer willpower.

That is not to say there are not death cultists within the realm of the Merth. Many still worship Desporus and are simply biding their time to strike from the shadows.

Of course this made them excellent mercenaries, of which many empires will now take advantage. A Merth would not leave a pot unturned in a city sacked when looking for gold.

Creation Merth
Savagery +15 sv, +1 Creation, (+1 Domain)
Special Rules Greedy and Smart: The Merth will always find more loot, or take a bigger bounty. Their lust for gold cannot be satisfied.
Death Cultist Bonus: If they are death cultists, they are especially blessed by Desporus, growing stronger and more resilient.
Short Lives: The Merth are blessed with a short and violent life, but a great fertility.
Apathy: No Merth really cares if they die.
Mortifi Riders: As any sentient creature of Desporus, Merth are capable of taming the great Mortifi as steeds
Mortifi are big horse-wolves that fuck shit up. Made that before.

Silvano in the form of Rhyt Sporebare-Pommeson stood in the center of Gold Leaf gazing upon the massive embroidered family-tree-tapestries that hung from the oldest and largest trees in the forest. Upon them, his own bloodline, thousands of years of genealogy which he had never known, were listed among the ranks. Her name was there. He thought of their time together, running through the woods, naked. He could smell her in his memories. She smelled of herbs and wildflowers and wind, like a warm breeze on a summer day, collecting the scents of the different plants in bloom. They were listed as Silvano and Ila Pommeson, the first of their line, but he had no recollection of ever calling her that. During his stay he learned that she was called Ila because it was believed she came directly from heavenly island of Pomme’s Shrine. Their House symbol was a totem of their Goddess Pomme, holding a flowering plant.

His white-blond hair hung wildly around his charcoal horns; a consequence of his penchant for flight. The sun was just now rising but he had already been flying for hours. The older he became, the less sleep he wanted or needed. He had already met the other members that would comprise his crew, for they had spent days planning, organizing and discussing their best route, their best gear, and their best course of action. What they did not know was that The House Elders had secretly contacted the other sentient races and major cities of Ebos, enlisting the help of the willing and capable few. Silvano and the others had just discovered that their unit of dignified and educated Dendra would be joined by barbarians from all of Ebos: Wanderers and mercenaries and sorcerers. Silvano was thankful for this, but as Rhyt, he had to pretend as though this intrusion was an affront to all of their kind, for the Dendra, regardless of all of their scientific advancements, had forgotten the importance of fellowship. One mercenary in particular, who was quite infamous in the underground, went by the name of Pervius. Based on his reputation alone, Silvano both suspected and hoped he would be one of his many elusive offspring, but he did not yet know for sure. The Dendra of his own bloodline he had so far met in Gold Lead were… disappointing. He considered that, perhaps, the dilution of his own blood had allowed them to become as soft and academic as they now were. There was but one among the company, Chlor Phytos-Pommeson, a young expert in aerial combat, who had spent his entire three-hundred and twenty three year lifespan perfecting his skills. Silvano had high hopes for this young Dendra, for even his horns branched the way his own had back in his glory days.

The clearing began to fill with members of the party. Leafies flittered joyously from branch to branch, engaged in an early morning game of catch. Their golden bodies flickered in the rays of the rising sun. The buzzing of their wings was a comforting and familiar sound, and their tiny puffs of breath in the cold morning weather reminded all those in eyesight of the everlasting winter. Gymn Sporebare-Phytos, an eccentric botanist who had outlived his welcome in the community, handed Silvano a container of nutriment. Perfectly seasoned mushrooms and green herbs were folded into whipped serpent eggs, fried in rendered Transgrisnir tallow, and baked into a shell made from the flour of ground seasonal grains and seeds. The egg pie came with a warm stoneware mug of hot brewed Klah* bark. Silvano nodded solemnly to Gymn, who sat next to him in silence on the intricately carved park bench, while they quietly broke their fast. Unlike most Dendra, Gymn was not interested in only one female with which to share his life and continue his bloodline, but many. As a genetic outlier, and disturber of the peace, his amplified libido and unchallenged knowledge of medicinal, edible and otherwise useful plants had landed him a position on Rhyt’s expedition, far from the civilized society of Gold Leaf.

*Shout-out to Dragonriders of Pern coffee substitute

Flora Phytos-Sporebare, a five-hundred and thirty-seven year old expert in animal behaviors and animal psychology entered the clearing. Her usual draping feminine garb had been replaced with plant and earth colored traveling gear. She wore a small dagger at her hip and carried a large sack on her back. Her own white-gold hair had several streaks of white; whether it was from age or the long winter Silvano did not know, but she still had a certain youthfulness about her. She was a widow from a very young age, and hoped to discover new species on this journey, or simply offer insights into the behavioral patterns of those that the party did cross. Her golden-brown eyes twinkled with a thirst for knowledge and adventure. As an expert in animal behaviors, her assistance in hunting could not be understated.

The medical staff lead by Sal* Phytos-Osier followed. They wore similarly colored forest-camouflage, with the typical pale-blue arm-band signifying those of the profession. Experts in anatomy, physiology, as well as medicinal plants, fungi and combat surgery would certainly be useful during their travels.

*Shout-out to the great Saen medical experts Salix and Saule

Other outdoorsman and sportsman with which Rhyt was not so well acquainted joined them in the clearing, taking positions among the wooden benches, eating their first daily meal. Youngsters from various houses walked among them, filling their mugs from glass caraffes of hot brewed Klah, readying them for the day ahead. It was at this time that the outsiders, mercenaries and races with which Silvano and the Dendra had little knowledge of, began to arrive. They ate their strange, odd smelling foods and drank their sour smelling beverages from weathered skins as the locals studied them unabashedly. Whispers among the crowd once again raised a very obvious question: why were they taking outsiders who couldn’t fly? Would this not significantly slow them down?

Among the group of outsiders was an odd creature seemingly made of stone, with a winged girl the size of a Leafie upon his shoulder, whispering in his ear. Several short but stout creatures, which could only be Svirfneblins, huddled together in collective distaste and confusion about the forest dwellings and odd inhabitants.

The creature with the reddish fur growing from its pale flesh could only be Pervius, since the stories of the infamous mercenary included only the description of his fiery hair. He was not what Silvano had expected, but still hoped that their time together would unravel the mysteries of this particular adventurer.

Stranger still was a surprise addition of a Dendra from the Rose Forest. His pale skin, red eyes, and white streaked pale pink hair were unnerving. Unlike the Dendra of Gold Leaf who devoted their lives to the knowledge of nature, the Dendra of the Rose Forest had long ago become obsessed with its mysteries. Living on nothing but the flora and fauna of the forest for millennia had allowed their cousins to take on the same strange properties of its other inhabitants. Their skills in healing seemed, even to the Dendra of Gold Leaf, just short of magic. He wore a heavy white cloak that did not move when the wind blew.

Eight Major Houses of the Dendra:
Pommeson, Osier, Phytos, Sporebare, Fernfrond, Leadblade, Chlorophi, Zillfluer
Minor Houses:
Minor house offshoots happen sporadically throughout the Dendra history when an individual or group of significance adds their own name or a group name (religious sect, combat unit, research group, etc.) to their housename.
Surnames:
Individuals often have two surnames, one from their mother and one from their father (i.e. Rhyt Sporebare-Pommeson’s mother was a Sporebare and Father was a Pommeson. Depending on the name of Rhyt’s deceased wife, their daughter Willa could have any number of surnames. If her last name was Osier-Fernfrond, Willa would be a Fernfrond-Pommeson. If she came from and identified with a minor house, she could be a Vena’Fernfrond-Pommeson (the Dendra offshoot in the Rose Forest which heavily worship Venatrix as much as their own Goddess Pomme long ago added the name to theirs). Also, because there are so many Dendra, but so few traditional Dendra names, oftentimes Surnames will be chosen differently from their family line to differentiate between newborn individuals, or to gain familial favor, etc.
Rose Forest
Creatures of the Rose Forest.
Dendra of the Rose Forest are generally considered weird by those in Gold Leaf, spending their time in the Mother City, mingling with the “barbarians” of Ebos. Living in the Rose Forest for millennium, eating the weird things that grow there and live there, assisted by the mutation enhancing microbes of Ebos, have allowed fairly quick generational “evolution” or adaption to the forest, so that they are significantly different than their golden cousins. Having higher base Savagery and skills in healing making them more difficult to kill, but there aren't nearly as many. They're kind of loners who wander around the Rose Forest, eating hummers and drinking the dew, talking to the Forest Keepers and whatnot, so they don't breed often.
If anyone else wants to jump into the fray, please feel free :) First Stop: The Forest Keepers for some Global insight; we may need The God of Weather for this...

Silvano:

“Father?” He heard the soft voice of Willa call out from the canopy below, to the man she believed was her father. After nearly twenty years, he was beginning to believe it himself. In a way, he was. Unfortunately, Rhyt Sporbare Pommeson had never recovered his memories after his accident in the woods. The widower, known well for his mycological research, had also forgotten much of his life’s work, and was forced to change professions. He now spent most of his time in the glass towers at the northern edge of the city, gazing out over the frozen forest, discouraging Zefflins from harassing the herds, and keeping the rare Slithe out of the boundaries of the city.

A swift gust of wings and the rustling of leaves brought the young Dendra down onto the open platform. The watchtowers were high above the canopy, offering a view of the whole city and much of the surrounding forest. The girl, nearly three hundred, was lively and demure. When he had met her nearly two decades ago, she had looked a true child of Gold Leaf: Her wings and hair were the vibrant shimmering yellow of the canopy, and her skin and eyes had the healthy green glow of spring. Now, like the rest of the citizens of Gold Leaf, she had paled like the forest around her. Her white blond hair and pale yellow leaves of her wings reminded him of a fallen autumn leaf glazed over with ice from an early frost. The wispy white gown draped about her completed the illusion. Ingredients for their natural green and gold dyes were harder to come by in the long winter, and the colorful clothing they owned from before the frost did little to camouflage them now in the frosty winter forest.

Like her father before her, she spent most of her time researching edible fungus. She had recently collected an edible specimen from some traveling Flitt, and had been perfecting its cultivation for nearly one hundred years. Trials included testing for the perfect combination of animal and plant composts, moisture, and sunlight to ensure the most abundant flush of the tastiest and hardiest fruiting bodies. Minor changes in ratio of Tannsgrisnir manure, decomposing wood shavings, the type of wood shavings, and the type of green clippings used would change the nuanced flavors of the mushrooms, as well as the sizes and colors. As with all Dendra, perfection was the goal, and she was determined to find a strain that could be considered culinarily and agriculturally ideal. Her family line was well known for their advances is agricultural food sciences.

“Keeping watch or daydreaming?” She asked him playfully, greeting him in the usual way with a kiss to each cheek. He had been thinking about the woman he used to love, whose name he had discovered, along with his own Dendra name, on the beautifully embroidered family tree that hung from the largest trees in the center of Gold Leaf. They had an entire bloodline: Pommeson. The man whose identity he had taken, and the woman who stood before him, represented the fifteenth and sixteenth generation of his line. He found it strange that his own blood mixed with the wildest woman he had known would create a line of scientists, but it seemed as though most Dendra now spent their young lives in study. Stories he had heard of his bloodline in the older generations were more interesting, back when the world was younger. However, with the odd behavior of the weather, which could only be due to Godly influence, he expected that the living generations would have serious hardships to face.

“I have been approached by the House Elders to lead an expedition, with the hope of finding out what is the cause of this long winter, and what, if anything, we can do to fix it.”

She slowly acknowledged his situation. Before his accident, The House Elders would have never asked him to go. He was Gold Leaf’s resident expert of medicinal, poisonous, and edible fungus, and spent most of his time teaching the young, consulting, inventing, and recording his findings. However, his accident changed him dramatically. He spent his time roving the forests with the hunters and free-spirits, camping for weeks on end, flying for days to the forests edge, and sometimes disappearing altogether for a month or more. He studied family genealogies and read historic accounts during any free time he had where he was stuck indoors, resting and preparing for his next trip. Willa knew he did not remember her, and he did not remember her mother. With his newfound talents, he was of little use to academic society, but coincidentally, one of the few Dendra capable of leading such an expedition. It was obvious why they would ask this of him, and obvious why he must accept.

“Who will you bring?” She inquired. He slowly listed the names for her, all of which she recognized. Many were distant cousins, uncles and aunts from different Houses. One was a great-great uncle she had never met. All were Healers, hunters, martial artists, experts in aerial combat, trackers, animal behaviorists, and one eccentric botanist. There would be little need for agriculturalists on a trek, and she expressed as much.

“Farming is a practice for the home.” Her father agreed. She laughed at his vulgar reference to her profession as farming. He smiled. It amused him to tease these new generation Dendra for all their special words they needed to describe what others would call farming, hunting, or foraging.

“Where will you go?” Was her next question.

“That is yet to be discussed, but we will of course begin with The Keepers. We will visit our neighbors The Flitt in the Wrangled Forest, hopefully question some Sleuths if we cross them. Eventually we will need to speak with our cousins in the Rose Forest, and visit the Mother City.”

Talk of the Mother City surprised her. “So far?”

“Aye. This global winter affects us all.”

She had hoped to share the news of her newest findings with her father, like she had done for most of her adult life, but his new responsibility outweighed her desire for paternal approval; and she knew he no longer cared for stories of mushrooms. She bade farewell to the stranger who was her father, and requested that he visit her again before departing. She would visit the elder generations of her House and the rest of their family would toast to her newest achievement with some Winter Wine and perfectly prepared mushrooms.

Silvano stood at the edge of the platform until the sun began to set, looking out across the frozen forest, before leaping out into the cold air himself. He loved flying.

Putting a band together to travel, find artifact Easter Eggs, fight bad guys, bang succubi (wait what?), and save the world. Silvano is going to take some cannon fodder with him from Gold Leaf, talk to The Keepers, meet some Flitt, maybe join up with Craig, and hopefully meet some sexy demigods along the way. Who’s with me? I can only realistically write once or twice a week, so this quest is going to be slow going, and I know it’s technically the Age of Races, and not the Age of Legends, but, whatevs. I’ll just keep playing by myself if no one joins me… ;)

Previous: Creation of the Dendra

Previous: Passus' Curse: Introduction to Silvano and his Dendra storyline

Dendra:

From creation of the Dendra until this point in the story, almost four thousand years have passed. Historians have named Year 1 the approximate date of when the Dendra were “Created,” but much of that is based on the approximate ages of the first Dendra from when they wrote the “first stories” (written history). However, the species was wild in their infancy, and so their recollections of events could not be entirely trusted. The First Age began at Year 1 Ya.C. (Years after Creation) until every living member of the first five generations had passed away. Their decedents going back to the Twelfth Generation still live, with the eldest being born in year 2665. The current year is 3715 Ya.C.

Creation: First Generation

Born between 100-800 years after Creation, Second Generation

Born 200-1000 years after Creation, Third Generation

Born 350 – 1200 years after Creation, Fourth Generation

Born 550 – 1400 year after Creation, Fifth Generation

Born 750 – 1550 year after Creation, Sixth Generation

Born 1000 – 1800 years after Creation, Seventh Generation

Born 1250 – 2000 years after Creation, Eighth Generation

Born 1500 – 2200 Ya.C., Ninth Generation

Born 1750 – 2400 Ya.C. Tenth Generation

Born 2000 – 2700 Ya. C. Eleventh Generation; First Age ended ~2550 Ya.C - after the death of last of those born to the fifth generation

Born 2400 – 3100 Ya. C Twelve Generation – First Age ends ~2550

Second Age Begins around 2550 Ya.C.

Born 2600 – 3300 Ya. C Thirteenth Generation

Born 2850 – 3550 Ya. C Fourteenth Generation

Born 3000 – 3700 Ya.C Fifteenth Generation; Second age ends ~ 3550 after death of the last of those born of the 10th Generation

Third Age Begins ~ 3550 Ya.C.

Born 3250 – 4000 Ya. C Sixteenth Generation

Born 3500- 4200 Seventeenth Generation

Born 3700 ~ 4400 Eighteenth Generation will be born during this time period.

Towards the start of the Third Age, a great freeze took hold of Ebos. The Dendra flew out in all directions and upon their return, it was confirmed: All of Ebos was experiencing winter. The weather and seasonal patterns they had observed for millennia were no longer valid. Crops and herds died, but The Dendra were thankful to see how quickly the forest adapted. The Tannsgrisnirs grew thick striped coats, mushrooms could be cultivated in heaps of warm decomposing materials (a process that was also utilized to warm the glass rooms) and their dormant fruit and nut trees were quickly overtaken by vines of a golden berry, whose sweet juice was often fermented into a crisp Winter Wine.

For twenty years the Dendra waited for the world to change back, all while attempting to explain the long winter or find some observable pattern, but there was nothing. A fear spread that the Third Age would be known only as the Age of Ice and Snow, and that children born in this time would know only the freeze.

In the thousands of years since their Creation, the Dendra had known peace, health and abundance, which allowed them to leisurely study and create. This strange new time was bringing about hardships and forcing innovations. They would need to branch out from their forests in ways they never had before, seeking assistance and trade from whatever other sentient beings they came across.

They hoped that the other creatures of Ebos would recognize their dire need for fellowship.

Where I am going with this is that the Dendra have lived in comfort for thousands of years, just relaxing and studying and flying, writing books about the natural sciences and developing simple medicines. They’ve had no need to branch out – but that is changing.
Soon after Silvano took the appearance of a fallen Dendra, the “Ice Age” began on Ebos. His nomadic Vaal offspring would now be around 20 years old. The bloodline of Dendra he started with his woman, thousands of years ago, still has their own family tree, but not everyone has the shifting gene and those who do have kept it secret.
Over the past several thousand years they’ve invented paper and writing products, agriculture and natural sciences, and simple clothing, armor and weaponry. I can add Savagery if anyone reading this thinks it’s necessary. :)
Sorry it's been four months :(

I look upon Ebos and am disappointed. Nothings happening. No one is eating my cheese and no one is enjoying it. As I watches time tick on with little happening I start to get...restless.... I wants to make something...do something that will spur the creatures and races to indulge themselves on what I have dedicated my entire existence too. Ebos must notice my influence...Ebos will indulge......Ebos will consume.......

It's for their own good isn't it? The creatures of the world should want to consume. Don't all things? Don't they want to enjoy it too? That's the basis off all creatures! They consume the resources to survive. They should be able to enjoy it as well, shouldn't they? I just made cheese to spur them on and give them something to enjoy so they wouldn't consume themselves.

If they wont willingly consume what I have provided then they must be coerced. They have to accept my cheese. Maybe they just need some more incentive to indulge themselves. Doing it right will require a gentle touch...but I've already been gentle. I've given them perfection and they've rejected it!

The children of Ebos must need a firmer hand to accept what's good for them.

Archived [Creation] From the Ground Rise the Tentative Theod (SavageGods)

The city of Plebiston was like that of decorative crystal vase, beautiful to the eyes, gleaming in the sun, but ultimately hollow. The usual hustle and bustle one would expect of a city was absent, with only the sound of the wind blowing across empty buildings and the clacking of patrolling Iudex knights. What's the point of a city if there was no inhabitants to it. What's the point of being the King of Kings if you can't rule over any peasants. This problem must be remedied!

If I am to create a people who will know there place as the lowest rung on society, then I shall make them from the lowest part of the natural order, the dirt itself! Yes, these people will not only be of my domain, but of Ebos' domain. They will have the need to defend the planet against those who wish to plunge it into chaos embedded within their being. There origin from the soil shall make them the rightful "people of Ebos", and give them the most righteous reason for existence. In fact, I shall make them all able bodied men who derive their purpose from servitude and work, so that they may never grow too lazy or indulgent to defend Ebos from any catastrophic event that may occur.

These men shall rise from the soil, and shall only rise from the soil. They shall have no spouses, for spouses become too mush of a focus, and divert loyalties from rulers. They shall breed and create dynasties by planting their seeds, and growing it into offspring. When the young child grows, its skin will be as black as the rich soil, and have hair as green as the coastal grass. But over time, the brilliant sun over Plebiston and the Court shall harden and bleach their skin brighter, and dry the grassy hair to shades of blonde, brown, and even a dead black.

However, these plans are a problem for me. I lack the ability to create life myself, especially from something as innate as the grass and soil itself. Which is why I beckon the attention of other gods to assist me in my creation. In return, they will gain an influx of loyal followers to themselves on Ebos, as I will allow those who help me to become Lesser Saints of Plebiston. So, shall any of my fellow deities answer my beckoning call to create the humble Theod?

Creation: Race Theod
Savagery +3 sv, +1 Creation, (+2 Loyalty, Submission)
Special Rules The men have the ability to reproduce by planting their "seed" into the ground, and growing their children.
There are no females within the Theod species.
The Theod do not have much in the way of independent thought, and can be easily commanded by those who hold more power over them.

I have been working non-stop, and I am also moving apartments. I can see based on the quiet in our sub everyone else is also busy.

I have a few fun ideas but I have no time to write. Can we extend the Age of Races? I say skip Sabbat this week, and don't end the Age of Races until next Monday instead.

I'm working all weekend but, I'll try and make a few posts a priority in my free time.

Any thoughts?

Archived Winter Berries (SavageGods)

submitted 10 months ago by GrandPrismatic to SavageGods (+6|-0)

Please mark as "Creation"

The coming years would be cold ones. Thankfully, the microbes would see to it that the flora and fauna would change rapidly enough so that the inhabitants of Ebos would not starve, but Pomme wanted to remind the mortals, who would come out of this long winter stronger than ever, of the hope and life that Spring promised.

And so she created Winter Berries, which would come to be known by many names as time progressed and they took root in forests, grasslands, swamps and plains across Ebos. Beautiful Golden Berries for the golden forest, pink Mother Berries in the Rose Forest, and red or black berries growing everywhere else. The flavors and characteristics may differ slightly, but they would be recognizable by all, especially the red, which would contrast most against the starkness of winter. Their vines would aggressively grow up any tree or shrub or grass, so that they would always be in a prime position to collect sunlight. Their roots will be invasive and they will grow not only in the wilds but also on walls within cities and other seemingly odd places. Outside of cities they would be abundant, growing in all biomes.

These berries will be immune to the frost and will thrive at temperatures lower than other plantlife on Ebos. When the winter is gone, the berries will either die or evolve because of the evolutionary microbes.

They are extremely sweet and dense with sugars, making them a high calorie snack for travelers, foragers, and excellent ingredients for fermented beverages, baked goods, and other preserves.

The Golden Berries and Mother Berries will take on the attributes of the Golden Forest and Rose Forest, respectively, meaning Golden Berries boost overall health and provide natural immunity to disease, while Mother Berries boost actual Savagery like the dew drops and Hummers of the Rose Forest, in addition to their normal nutritional value.

For those who don't know: currants are delicious in jams and jellies. My grandparents had beautiful old vines of both red and black currants on their homestead and Bertha's black currant jam was always one of my favorites. They both died last summer and and my parents had to sell the property, but damn if I'll never forget plum and currant jam in the Christmas packages, picking endless strawberries and raspberries, making poppy rolls (they grew the most lovely peony poppies), and S'mores around the campfire <3
Shout out to Currants, an underrated fruit :)

Edit:

Creation: Flora Winter Berries
+1 Pomme, +1 Creation, +2 Domain (Agriculture, Ecological Sciences)
Special Rules Grow abundantly across all biomes of Ebos; immune to frost and thrives at lower temperatures
Berries in the Golden and Rose Forests take on atrributes of the forest (this is negligible and really only affects story telling)
Susceptible to microbes just like everything else
Aggressively growing vines are invasive and will climb trees, walls, shrubs, grasses, or other structures to reach sunlight
Even as they evolve, they will always be edible and sought after; no amount of manipulation, breeding, magic or time will render the Winter Berries poisonous or inedible

Welcome to the Third Age

The Age of Races spans 4000 Years. There will be a Focus on territorial expansion of races. Their possible ties to the gods. It is about the primitive development of your species, what basic inventions did they make, which gods do they worship, which beast do they discover and tame, which superstitions begin to take shape, which alliances do they form, which habitats do they claim, do they discover fire or magic or perhaps Trapar? Think Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Dark Ages, Columbus. All players can write stories about the actions of unclaimed Races and Demigods. When you claim a Race or Demigod, you will be the unique writer of their story.

This age is also about the races expansion over The world of Ebos

Special rules for Races this age

  • Races will recover 30SV on the Sabbat.
  • Developments by races will gain 10% at the Sabbat.

Here is an overview of all the races. You can also create your own race in addition to choosing from these.

The Races of Ebos. Their Story
Breadnaughts They shall be a people made of bread entirely! They shall have a magic inherent to their existence called, Wheaty! This magic will allow them to create bread of varying types at-will. The will use this tho feed the masses as well as help ensure peace within their rage of influence because they despise conflict and will erect giant walls of extremely tough bread around any aggressors and making bread rain within to make them rethink their actions and, hopefully, come out reformed and not violent. They shall have amazing skill for baking. People will come from all over Ebos just to learn from them how to bake right! All things they bake will be delicious and highly sought after. They even reproduce by a mix of baking a "bun" and infusing magic into it. Everything they make will be made of bread. They will have a military of bread.
Gouda Golem The simple race of Gouda Golems. They are large, standing 12' (3.7 Meters) tall and weighing in at 15,000 lbs (6800 kg). They are omnivores, but choose to mostly indulge themselves in their cheese. The Gouda Golems are able to grow their own cheese from various parts of their body, which can be cut off without harm. If left untouched the cheese can form into a hard armor, which serves as a very nice self defense mechanism. After the armor is hardened it can be used to create various things like weapons, furniture, buildings etc. The Gouda Golems are even able to reproduce, despite the fact that the term ""Golem"" implies they are merely animated cheese. They do this by combining their cheese with another Gouda Golem Golems and after eating that, the cheese they grow next will be the start of a new life. It is not uncommon for more than one Gouda Golem to contribute in creating a new child. The Gouda Golems are very kind unless treated badly. They enjoy their life revolving the various kinds of cheese they can grow. Eating, growing a different kind of cheese by eating a few berries and trying that one is a very common thing to get excited about for a Gouda Golem. They are always trying to create better cheeses by eating different things.
Iudex Knights "To make sure, however, that the Court was properly guarded and tended for, those with a loyalty to Rex and Rex only. Thus, out of the walls of the Court came animated sets of armor, made of the same golden material that plastered Court. These knights were simply empty suits if armor, moved by the spirit of loyalty that inhabited within them, a spirit that made them subservient to Rex and Rex only. These knights would guard the Court from those beckoned by avarice, from those guided by conquest, and from those guided by nature. These knights will be known as the Iudex Knights Iudex Knights.
Succubus They will also transform into the most beautiful representation of their race, and their powers to seduce and manipulate will be greatly enhanced. However...these powers come at a great price. Those that sleep with a succubus will rapidly grow weaker every day. Succubi are extremely protective of their children (think momma grizzly bear). When they sense danger they emit a piercing scream that calls all the nearby succubi to the area to help the mother. They will shred the intruder with their razor sharp claws and eat their flesh. They usually have long black or red hair and horns that sprout from their head. The horns grow longer after each person they sleep with. They have long skeletal wings they can use to fly and glide short distances. These wings can be folded down against their body to keep hidden. Their hands have razor sharp claws they use to defend themselves and kill their enemies. Some have a tail. Their tongue is forked like a serpent's They stand about 6' tall. They prefer darkness but the light does not stop them. They only seduce during the night. They live in the darkest reaches of the forest, they can also be found in caves and (rarely) in remote locations underground. They will speak the common-tongue of Ebos once a language for the planet has been established.
Monks of Infinity "Finally, Kreonisis creates his own race, the Monks of Infinity, to explore the mysteries of the universe and welcome those that can find the Singular Moon. They are simple, orange, hairless beings clothed in grey but are very spiritual. They are peaceful and study meditation and inner peace, but can defend themselves if attacked. They are few in number, perhaps less than 50,000 in number and procreate very slowly. They survive on the mushrooms and moss that grows on the Singular Moon. They rarely travel from their home.
Flitt "The Flitt would be very smart. a frail shape, bipedal, small of frame and large in mind, so possibly even larger ears. The appearance left to be desired. Very attentive. They would overhear others from far far away, they would be able to listen to many. Some would even be able to hear strong toughts. Over time this race would master the craft of picking someones mind for the answers. For now this race of sapients takes their home in the trees of the Wrangled Forest.
Vaal "The Vaal are nomads. Strong hunter gatherers, they are constantly on the move. The Vaal worship Pomme, for she often blesses them. She has provided them with a great bounty, all they need do is gather it. Such is their love for Pomme, that they worship the forests, and seldom enter one. They inhabit the grasslands, the swamps and the tundra. Their thick fur coat coat, keeps them well insulated against most weather. The Vaal also worship Venatrix, for the hunt is their greatest joy. They may appear fearsome , but the Vaal are a happy folk. They love song, and beer, and take great delight in cheese. They are pack hunters, and favour the spear. They will often stand in the rain, just to feel alive. Their settlements are small, mostly tents of various designs.
Dendra The Dendra are intelligent, clever, and problem solvers. They will always investigate natural phenomena and wish to explain it. They want to understand the world around them as best they can. As a passive race, they’ll only engage in violence to protect the forests and knowledge they steward and accumulate. The squabbles of other races are of no matter to them, as they observe and tend to the forests, innovate in their labs, dissect in their greenhouses, and study; always seeking knowledge and inventions. They excel in the ecological sciences (discoveries, technology, innovation, etc.) Dendra are extremely long-lived, often living to 1000/1100 years old. Some assume it’s their knowledge of biology and medicines which allow their extremely long life, but it is in fact a gift from Pomme.

The cities were a huge success! Everyone pitched in and made the land of Ebos diverse!

Wonderful!

Now to finish his plans for the City of Eternal Bread by giving it a people to spread the plentefulness of the bread!

Their name: the Breadnaughts!

They shall be a people made of bread entirely!

These bread people will begin in the City of Eternal Bread and spread from there.

Birr had been feeling a tug, pulling him back ever since he began wandering through this universe. He contributed greatly to the flowingness and movements of all.

But he was feeling weary.

He needed a rest and, as much as he hated the ceasing of movement, decided that now was the time for it.

Birr created a place for the gods to rest briefly while they regained energy necessary for moving.

He put it in a great vantage point to record the moving Ebos and the other gods' actions so that those resting would quickly catch up: in orbit of Ebos 45 degrees away from the other orbiting body.

Birr took one last look at the universe and stepped in.

I have a lot of things going on in my life right now and I need to focus of some things that require more attention than I have been giving them. I don't know if/when I'll be back, but I'll at least be reading. This community is great and I hope to write more silly stories of gods and their shenanigans in the future. Have fun!

Passus enjoyed being nice, but so far the world was trudging along nicely. Mortals had comfortable lives, not much of danger existed in the world of Ebos. There were few lost souls to take care for. Few were actually desperate and in need of comfort. Even comforting the dying was a task no longer fit for him, since Diweth was scribbling happily along in his giant book.

Mortals needed a tyrant.

Tyrants would cause enough grief for Passus to console. However, Tyrants would be mortals too, and so Tyrants would die. For their to be a perpetual flow of miserable mortals there needed to be a perpetual way of Tyranny.

It was so Passus got inspired to craft a wooden staff He imbued the top of it with horrendous godly powers. Loss. But the loss would not be final, for otherwise there were no mortals to console.

Passus tapped a Sky-Whale with the staff. It immediatly vanished. It had vanished to the south pole of Ebos and now a Lonely and very confused Sky-Whale was floating across the white frost of the Artic, trying to make it's way back to its family in warmer climates. It's fear and desperation reinvigorated Passus, and soon he came to comfort and guide the Sky-Whale back to the tropical meridean.

The rush had overcome him and so Passus tapped a Succubus, a Leafie and a Gouda Golem. All vanished where they stood and appeared completely lost dead center of the Artic. The Leafie's family grew sad and Passus was there to comfort them. When he arrived at the south pole the leafie had been killed and eaten by the Succubus, the Succubus was now trying to take down the Gouda Golem for food and shelter.

Satisfied he dumped the staff in the path of a nomadic Vaal Tribe crossing the Grasslands

Even as a Dendra he was different; looked different; acted differed. When their race was young it did not matter, she didn’t mind. But now it did. He could no longer blend with the crowd.

He had studied their developments for millennia and yet still could not fit with their society even though he had helped develop it. In a few hundred years they went from naked babes in the woods, running with the beasts like himself, to exploring the high towers of Gold Leaf and making it their permanent home. It was the Leafies, depressed and caged in their great glass rooms, that ultimately told the Dendra of the Godly intervention which occurred and created the marvelous canopy-shaded city which they now called their home. Upon further study of the Leafies in captivity, it was deemed unlawful by the Dendra to capture them, for it truly destroyed their little spirits. Study of their joyful forest-mates continued outdoors only, or on the Leafies terms.

Silvano missed the old days. One of the first Dendra to ever grace the surface and winds of Ebos, a true daughter of Pomme, was beautiful and wild, and they had made love every day that he was with her. As she aged, their flights grew shorter and her mortal skin grew grey, but even at 1076 years old he thought her as beautiful as ever with her white-gold hair and browning wings. He even allowed his outward appearance to age with her, for she never knew his secret. Upon her death he fled to the forest and took comfort in the forms of all the less intelligent life of the forest: Leafies and Zefflins at first, for he still missed flying, but even flight reminded him of her, and so he took the form of a Slithe. Many times he prayed to Pomme to ease his pain, but this is what being alive feels like, she would explain. You were blessed by Passus. A cycle of elation and heartbreak, joy and emptiness. For one cannot have love without loss. Why couldn’t she have lived forever with him?

After several thousand more years shifting into less intelligent bodies, or shifting into Vaal or Flitt or Incubi, he finally forgot her name, but still watched closely as the Dendra progressed. Living as various forest beasts they had studied him, and he had studied them in return: their new attire, their new structured speech, their new culture and societal arrangement. No longer were they wild creatures running through the forests naked, curious about everything, and flying through the skies with no fear. They were more secretive now. They lived indoors writing and studying. They did still spend much of their time outside flying or walking the forest trails, but it was to practice their various new skills and study the wildlife. So much discipline. They no longer just observed, but also wrote about their observations on crisp material made from the pulp of plant fibers. They collected samples and specimens and brought it all back to their giant glass rooms.

So much had changed since the early days. He had tried to change his appearance from the way he looked back then, but he lacked the clothing which they now adorned themselves with. Back when they were naked and free he could join them at any time, running with them, flying with them, but now appearing naked before them would only raise an alarm. Aside from their attire and experiments, they kept detailed notes of their ancestral roots and family ties; almost everyone knew everyone else’s families and historical accomplishments. Where could he fit in? They would easily label him an imposter. Yet, he tired of taking the form of a Leafie and following them around to gain information.

He eventually decided to permanently take the form of a Flitt, but his ears were small; attracting a mate proved more difficult than he had hoped, and they lived such short lives. They were so different. The Vaal were more exciting, hunting and running, always on the move. They mated like beasts and although he partook, he still missed his connection with the Dendra.

Finally a day came where his hopes were answered. He had returned to the Forest after business in the wild plains, missing his comrades with whom he spent over a thousand years, only to see one of them fall in the forest after an altercation with a large alpha Zefflin, and crashing viciously into every tree branch during his decent. Silvano calmed the Zefflin quickly, only to watch it die moments later from serious blade wounds to its chest and stomach, right after death had claimed the Dendra which killed it. He quickly stripped the body of the deceased Dendra and took his exact physical form: Golden hair, brown horns, pale golden skin. Once the new attire was properly fitted, he buried the body. He had no plan going forward other than to pretend. Now it was he who would be studying them and their new society more closely. He would be one of them once again.

It wasn’t long before he heard the voices of a search party. Dousing himself in more of the Zefflin's blood, he lay alongside it, wrapping himself in the beasts claws in a faux embrace of death. As the others roused him, they worried about his lack of memory and promptly carried him back to the City of Gold Leaf for care.

Dendra mate for life.
From Passus's Blessing: He will sense the crowd and feel comfort and compassion for the species in an attempt to truly become one of them he will also feel like one of them.
