Thousands of years passed as Birr traveled the Icy lands of Ebos, seeing all that mortal eyes would allow.
He took many forms in his travels, at one time a small woodland creature, at another a simple Theod, he never let anyone know of his true nature, though many children sensed it and came up to him.
He would always give them a small blessing to aid them in life. Never anything that could be used to harm, only aid. He watched as these gifts created empires and allowed once small villages to thrive. He would always smile to himself when he crossed one of them and give them a small silvery green coin without their knowledge. The coins simply gave off an aura of hope and determination.
He saw many civilizations rise and fall, every time as a different creature. He yearned to work as a mortal within the empires without using his divinity to give himself an advantage but, in his mortal forms, he was terrible at all mortal professions.
Over hundreds of years, Birr devised a plan. He would reveal who and what he was unto one mortal.
Birr appeared near the gates of Karnel in the form of an old Theod walking with a cane. He passed into the city and made his way to the library of energy, buying a small blue powdered wig from a vendor. He walked up the massive marble staircase to the library gazing about at the additions made by the many mortals who lived here over the centuries, marveling at how far they had all come since this world was created. There was one section of the library that few went to as the books were indecipherable to all but a select few who dedicated their lives to the pursuit of absolute knowledge of energies. At this time, there was one scholar in the library... the one he chose to endow with his secret and the thing he wanted most... a lizard-like Flitt who was currently curled up asleep in a pile of books. Birr moved quietly to the young Flitt's pile of books. His presence woke it. The Flitt groggily leaned up and peered at Birr.
Sensing... something, he asked, "Who are you?"
Birr extended his hand closed, face-down with something in it toward the Flitt. The Flitt reached out and opened his hand under Birr's then a small party horn was dropped into his hand. As it touched his hand the Flitt's eyes popped wide open.
Birr smiled and said, "You know who and what I am..."
He turned his hand face-up in invitation.
Mard'y reached out and, when he touched Birr's hand, they both disappeared in a flash of confetti and the sound of party horns.
No one ever knew what happened to the astute little lizard-y Flit, just that his favorite tome was gone and that there was a loud honk heard around the world the last day anyone saw him.
So I know many people want to play still and @kith has his rework plans but I just wanted to write something goofy about the world and just felt the need to write this. It's a bit more serious tone for Birr than I ever intended but I figured that, since the world was kind of abandoned multiple times, it might be fun to have birr bring a being from the world with him to wherever he may go. I want to play this game more and I miss the shenanigans that were had. I'll be on irc at 6:30ish CST tomorrow if anyone wants to discuss that type of thing.
I miss you people! I hope everyone is doing well!
