So... back in the 60's, i recall being in grade school, when the new crop of catechism text books arrived at our school... my Dad was dumbfounded at what was included (chapters on indian's happy hunting grounds, evolution of culture, with apex of hammer and sickel), and what was not included (no mention of sacraments, commandments, grace, sin, etc.)

Fortunately, the priest refused to let those books be used, required all teachers to continue teaching authentic teaching, and in fact, routinely popped in unannounced to quiz the students that they were being taught their faith correctly.

I am still grateful for that priest, and others like him -- instead of simply complaining, they quietly went about their important work, with renewed vigor, all the more vigilant and aware, as the attacks against the Church increased.
