Some things are so rotten they just have to be thrown away.
The FBI, the CIA and the CDC are examples that come immediately to mind.
Large parts of State and Justice are also corrupt and wholesale replacement needs to be done at the very least.
The house and the Senate need to be replaced by at least half.
The point is that institutions are the place where truth goes to die. A position of relative prestige, a fat salary, the ability to block people's progress in their honest work, a big desk, a warm office, subservient staff and the incumbent's edge in the next election are all seductions to venality and subornation.
So bureaucrats become suborned. We need term limits and fresh, clean people.
JFK was absolutely right about the CIA. It needs to be disassembled. I hope Gina Haspel is doing it.
We need an organization like the FBI and I'm sure there are a lot of good agents who could be transfer-recruited to a new agency but the current organization needs to be expunged.
When we the people are encouraged to place our faith in the honor and reliability of governmental institutions we are being encouraged to put our faith in an area we should deeply mistrust. Barr and Trump appear to feel it is necessary to preserve "faith in government". Our faith should be in the truth and reliability of our ideals as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and as so very wisely enumerated in the Constitution.
We need to recognize the broad systemic failure of our institutions and return to principles. Trump, Barr and Pompeo need to provide stronger leadership in this fundamental direction.

Trump's job is to save the government at all costs. That was Q's job, to prevent us from rioting.
Trump is our only choice - but his job is to to KEEP the establishment, not remove it. Unfortunately.
