He does, but the term goes way back further than that. In the 1950s the underground communists here and in Europe were called the "fifth column." Joe McCarthy used the term. But to be sure, the pseudo "news" outlets today would qualify for that name. We can also extend it to all the BLM / Antifa types taking over our streets.

It goes back to the Spanish Civil War in 1936. It refers to four columns of troops advancing on Madrid and a fifth column of infiltrators inside the city. ( https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/fifth-column.html )

It’s the Fifth Estate was a rebranded code for the Fifth Element. Today’s Media has morphed from the 4th Estate to the 5th.
