In Georgia, some schools opened in-person this week; others are still distance learning with zoom. Each district sets its own calendar.

But years ago, when homeschooling legislation was considered at the state house, there'd been a push for proof of vaccinations to be reported to the local district—nothing ever came of it because back then people still respected medical privacy law and public schools could not show a need to have that information for home schools.
so... based on what I learned about liberals in legislature back then, and on the limited info you shared here, my best hunch: They are fishing to test the amount of public push-back, hoping that there is enough fear now to make people give up the right to any religious exemption. If so, you will see some not-so-organic "parents groups" complain that religious exemptions are putting their child at risk.
