I was out to 3 grocery stores today. 🥴 Back in April when death rates were rising, about 1/3 of the customers, mostly blacks, were wearing the masks. I figured that was because (except for the SNAP (food stamps) program, which is pretty proportional to the demographics here) most other public assistance, especially childcare and housing, is given largely to blacks, so I thought maybe they were used to doing what the government says because it benefits then financially... Well... today was closer to 90% wearing masks—in 90ºF. I really wanted to yell at them, "The second you start sweating and that mask gets damp, you are increasing your risk of bacterial infection!" but I held my peace... BUT:
There are So Many going along with it now that even when they hear the truth, they are going to stick to a "mask good" paradigm because their Pride is going to keep them from admitting they were duped. Many will insist they were in danger so they won't have to face reality.
And the reality here the numbers of cases being evaluated by Public Health Dept, the 1st week of July sounded like a number big enough to worry about—until you compared it with the FACT that the Public Health District has a population of nearly One Million. And then some basic math shows that the percentage of cases in the population was 0.08, but of course, they never phrase it that way.
Which got me to thinking... 0.08 was also said to be the "chances" of having a serious complication from a vaccine. 🤔 Hmm.
