I'm not ignoring it, I'm saying there is no point fighting to keep them as they are and we need to start fresh.

Well I will agree that we have to start over, as they are hopelessly gone.

So... would you apply the same logic to the US? I mean if the US became a corrupt institution with criminals and pedophiles at the very top rungs of power, would there be any point to fight to keep them as they are and maybe the US would need to start fresh too? Get rid of the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, forget all of your history and forget all of your past leaders. Tear down the statues and let's call America something else.

Or perhaps, just as you find something to love in your institutions and believe that it is worth fighting for and reforming rather than destroying it completely... maybe others have the same view of their own institutions. You should think about that before thinking the destruction of other people's institutions is 'ok'. It's not as if yours is built on anything more solid than anybody else.

As for your main statement... I would take it pretty personally if I was an American and someone said that I don't think the destruction of America is that bad. Maybe you should go back to church and really meditate on your statements above but replace everything with the names of people and institutions you love. Then you might understand how it could rub people the wrong way. In the long run, it might actually make you a better Christian.
