I remember reading that after President Truman handed the reins over to Eisenhower, Harry S went to the train station and mingled with the public, before getting in his car to return to Independence, Missouri. He considered himself just another citizen. That, my friends, is how it is supposed to work.

FDR kept Truman in the dark on the specifics of the WWII strategy. Upon his death, President Truman had an incredible amount of information to absorb, in a short period of time. Quite admirable.
