What actions are you planning to take to address this problem in your state?

Outside of voting, I have volunteered my money, time, and professional services to the local Republican party. I am also quite vocal within my community about this matter. Running for office is a consideration however external circumstances may require my family to relocate. On an immediately local level, I have joined my neighbors in starting a neighborhood watch in response to the out of control druggie vagrant and property theft problems.

Yep, it doesn't take all that much, it just requires 1. Believing it's important to be active about and 2. Believing it will be worth it to act on it.
I've worked with local governments, and they aren't all bad people, but you have to speak up because you can be sure that there are other louder groups out there that will voice their opinions in the absence of yours. If you aren't there to advocate for yourself you will be tossed aside by that louder voice. I have swayed decisions just by speaking up, and so now I know that it works.
How's the neighborhood watch thing? Do you feel like it builds a lot of trust and comradery with your neighbors?
