I call that separating the wheat from the chaff, at least its not a daily indoctrination of sexual perversions, racism, SJW lies, and all of the other Cultural Marxism they are pushing to indoctrinate the kids.

Please understand, the school curriculum is still rife with these disgusting ideas. Now they mandate that children complete their schoolwork at home, with uninterested/overworked parents who don't have time or motivation to care. Although I work 7 days a week, I still take the time to go through all my kids schoolwork. It's hard for me, and I'm a pretty motivated person. Most of the other kids in our neighborhood put little time and effort into their at home schooling and have no parental support. I'm happy to be able to counteract the progressive narrative in her schoolwork, so that's a plus. But as for most of the other children, they're finding it easy to slack off, and their free time doesn't seem to be filled with anything genuinely educational or constructive. In my area, most people are back to work in some capacity so the kids have more time left to their own devices. I'm torn, my tax money is going to schools who are glorified baby sitters and stuffing "diversity is our only strength" narritives down kids throats, pointless reading assignments, science work for a full month about the solar system, etc and I hate that so much. But it's nice that kids have an environment free from distraction that is supportive of learning like school provides. I like the social interaction part of it too.

To be fair, I live in a middle class neighborhood with a decent school district with mainly white students. Inner city schools, teachers, and students are probably way different. I can only speak to what I experience.

Understood, but as I said, we're separating the wheat from the chaff here, unfortunate as it may be, it has to be done. You keep doing what you're doing, your kids are going to rise to the top. One day your kid will be the boss of those slackers. I want a system that doesn't drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator. A good system should take those that want to exceed, in addition with parents that are busting their ass to see to it their kids do what is expected of them, and push them ahead, not hold them back. Even an average academic student can still rise to the top by pure effort.

Hang in there, when the schools do re-open, I hope parents have learned something from this experience too and have the opportunity to push back on some of the nitwittery of the public school system. There is only so much that DJT can do, those of us at the local level have to be heard, be loud, and stand our ground. The left has run amok because while parents are working to pay the bills, they are working to indoctrinate our youth with Cultural Marxism. This cabal of evil has stacked the system against us. Trust Q, trust the POTUS, and may God bless you with all the good he can bestow.
