Do you want your meat to be two months old before it even hits our shores, let alone the time it's going to languish in warehouses and shipping containers before it ever actually hits a store shelf?

Because it took that shipment of meat from Namibia from February until April 17 to get here: https://www.foodbusinessafrica.com/2020/04/25/namibia-starts-export-of-beef-products-to-the-united-states/

I don't care how grass-fed or drug-free the meat is. If it's that fucking old, I'm not going to eat it.

I get grass-fed, drug-free meat locally. And I get it in my hands, butchered to my specifications, within days of it being slaughtered. I know how the meat is prepared. I know how the animal was slaughtered. I know how the animal was raised. I know how the animal was treated. I can look the man or woman responsible right in the eyes and talk to them directly.

THAT'S the model this country should move to. Local (100-250 miles) farms supplying local communities. The root of this problem, and a whole lot of other evils, is industrialized, corporatized farming.
