I agree - once again, people who responsibly lived within their means would be "punished" while those who racked up crazy amounts of debt get rewarded.

Agree with you about the unanswered questions. We absolutely can't get rid of cash - we'll be totally screwed.

No, I believe that people should be helped. However, I also don't think someone who has maxed out 20 credit cards buying frivolous crap should have that debt erased while someone who may love the same things but didn't buy them bc they could not afford to without going into debt gets nothing. Erasing the interest,penalties, late charges is one thing - erasing the entire debt for Laboutins they didn't need in the first place is another thing entirely.
