You mean "read the thread?" So people upvote a unopened thread. This is a great example (if true) of being lazy. The twitter post the OP linked is incorrect. The thread plays that out. So if you read thread title, but not open it - then you have been given "fake news" and consumed it willfully.

Yes people upvote and downvote without reading the article. Nothing nefarious occuring. And yes it absolutely lazy.
