There have been hundreds of hominid species on this planet over millions of years. Our species homo sapien sapien has been around for around 250,000 years. Now, geneticists will try to tell you that all the races are the same species, but this can;t possibly be true based on observations made that show u to a fifteen % difference in genetic variations from race to race. Some hominid species did inter breed because they were compatible such as neanderthal and our earlier ancestor, homo sapien. Modern day Caucasians share up to 2% DNA with neanderthal and the negriod race does not. The races, and this is my conclusion, are all slightly different species with each one having very distinct genetic code individually. Gorillas, Chimpanzees and modern day races share a common ancestor way back on the evolutionary scale. Geological location, weather, isolation and selective breeding have created all the races. So it's possible that some "races" have breed with other, newer hominid species. I mean it is possible that sub Saharan species breed with species that are more closely related to gorillas and chimps, hence why they share a lot of common genetic features with them.
