Nope. There are specific limits on what a "nonprofit" can do. Especially a 501c3. Political campaigning is expressly forbidden. As is lobbying.
Corporation is an umbrella term that covers a LOT of types of organizations. A 501c3 falls under the legal definition of corporation. As do most tax exempt churches. Any time there is a sizeable group of people doing something with money involved, they are probably incorporated in some manor. The title corporation doesn't mean "money making business". Although most corporations do turn a profit.
