It's a new year. Start again. My thing was, one is not enough, and two is too many. Do you want your kids and your reputation to suffer if/when you get caught drinking and driving? Having my name in the paper for DUI would just kill me. I hurt both of my daughters when just having a casual glass of wine on separate occasions. That is when I decided they were more important than me enjoying alcohol.
I come from a long line of drinkers. I gave it up when I was pregnant with both. But over the years I got back to drinking, and sometimes too much. My children have always been my highest priority. I never want them to be angry or embarrassed of me again. So one New Year, that was my resolution. It's been three years, and actually it was easier than quitting diet coke. You can do it. Prayer does help, He is always with you. If you're out with people, and want to fit in, just have club soda with lime. If people asked me if I wanted a drink, I just told them I gave it up for health reasons. Baby steps, and if you fail - start over! Much luck to you!
Figuring out the reason why you drink too much is the best place to start. I read a lot of this lady's books when I was pregnant:
