Let me put on my little tinfoil hat for a minute. If we stretch our minds a bit and we accept the possibility of two timelines, from project looking glass, then it follows this logic perfectly. There are a multitude of events that need to happen in sequence, and events that must be avoided to place us firmly on timeline 1. If we can completely eliminate the possibility of timeline 2, then everything will work out in our favor, irregardless of how it actually happens. The snowball can only roll down one side of the mountain, the darks side or the light side, once it gets going it causes an avalanche. If we can give it a push in the correct direction, we're gonna win.
