it does not happen like that... the loans go to the buying of specific things, generally items that allow the person to improve there situation and pay back the loan. theses loans have one of the best pay back rates of any loans in third world countries. as far as I am concerned its one of the best way for doing charity in third world countries. Also this money is provided by private individuals not a part of a US government program....so don't you dare tell me or anyone else how to use our money to make the world a better place

my mistake.... I thought you were referring to the micro loan program though the group kiva.....the US Government should not be involved with anything involving the UN. kiva does loans under 100 dollars in third world countries to try and lift individuals out of what I would refer to as real poverty. the stuff you are referring to looks like one big money grab by elite...
