I don't understand the absolute necessity of having $100 worth of toys that really aren't needed for every single child in this country. IF people feel inclined to help a family out, I'm pretty sure that they know a family they can help. But, no.... we have made these people feel entitled to this materialism and it is expected. Could you imagine if one year they don't have the funds to do this??? Or if they can ONLY provide one single thing per child? Can't you just hear the riots forming?
I think the whole idea is just bull. It's a way to make the poor feel like they're not poor. If they're poor, then they're poor and they need to either make their situation better, or learn to live with their poor decisions.
