I'm saying their tech still isn't good enough to trick people, and if it is, they will have to literally release the technology to cover their asses.
Let me explain what I mean here: The face tech we're seeing now was developed by Lucasfilm back in the early 2000s. George used this to stitch different takes actors did together to form new shots and lines for the characters to say. This was heavily used in episode 3, IIRC. It's almost impossible to notice even today and those movies came out over a decade ago.
But these effects were possible because of the planning, control over the set, and the cinema quality cameras (Digital) were used.
Now lets say you're on Pedo island and one of the security cameras in your room is recording you doing something horrible, just unspeakable. It's a security camera, so unless they were installed yesterday, you're probably dealing with a 1080p feed. The night vision is probably on, so you have lots of IR light getting shot into the room from the camera, with a big bright IR circle in the middle of the shot. It's blurry because it doesn't have enough light in the room to process a clean image.
The deepfake program has to not only work in those kinds of horrible conditions, but also blend in with those camera conditions perfectly, with no digital distortion or artifacting at all.
What I'm saying is that these people are stupid, and a lot of the blackmail videos they have would likely be too challenging to fake, because they weren't shooting it with deepfakes in mind. Try deepfaking a 480p cellphone video from 2007
