The university graduate school teaches this as (controlling the society) through Pop Culture.
You must change the culture before you change the politics.

I believe that the layer that is the worst isn't the part that feels like exhorting you to take a side, no matter the side. The worst of the programming is more like a slide. You have an inspired moment, feeling good, thinking clearly and you come up with an interesting idea. And then the programming. "win a million dollars" You still like your idea but you have been blocked and sabotaged and slid by the idea that the next step is buy a ticket. For some people, they buy a ticket AND they make a plan and execute the plan. Later they report that, at first they thought they'd need a million bucks, but they kept thinking and realized..... But for many people, that is the end of the impulse. What should have had more of a chance to catch fire is stalled.
"kids need to panic because the adults cannot face the worldwide imminent threat of...."
"nature is dangerous. live in a mega city or we will cut your power inconveniently" (sorry that last bit slipped in)
"your paid job is your identity"
"government cannot be trusted with money or monetary policy"
"banks are a safe place to keep money"
"in case of emergency, trust the announcements and wait for rescue"
"grow up, go to university, start a career, be fabulous at the career, maybe have a family if it works out"
"you must change this or your cannot change that"

We are smart enough to turn off the Jewish looking glass, and turn off "clearchannel" radio programming...

Good perspective.

This is true of HRC’s tweets, too. The Podesta emails showed that it took something like 14 people to write and approve one tweet. I’m sure it’s the same now. Keep that in mind when her account responds to POTUS. That isn’t her tweeting. It’s her toadies.
