That was in Taiwan. And one in Italy. If such things happen in China, the people responsible get executed, so every bridge has a maintenance team looking for cracks regularly.

Buildings in China are absolute shit quality and your new house will be full of cracks within the first year. I wouldn't expect public infrastructure to be much better.
