Who wrote it down?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, which is attested to by the unity and agreement seen in over 40 authors from three continents in three main languages (plus a 4th short bit by Nebuchadnezzar), and several nationalities, over a span of 1500 years. Here is a linked image of all the cross references; each strand of the white fringe along the base represents a Bible verse and the colored filaments connect to a cross reference. Yes, there really is that much consistency; as Q might say, What are the odds of such unity and agreement?

Which, if you think about it, shows that God "needed" men to write it down. At least, he chose to do it that way; He chose to involve men and told them to write it down. He used men as scribes for the most part anyway; the original 10 commandments He did write with His own finger on stone tablet.

Furthermore, the Holy Spirit has been witnessing to individuals on all continents since the Pentecost of the Book of Acts, and His witness is consistent as well.

anthropomorphism

You got that 180º backwards. God made man in His image.
