ZeroNet is decentralized website architecture, it was nothing to do with providing anonymity. If one used a VPN or TOR to access ZeroNet (which is built to do), your IP is hidden. ZeroNet essentially works as a large torrent when distributing and transferring files..... that has nothing to do with it being a honeypot. You are connecting to hundreds of peers to create a network of machines to host content.
I find it interesting how much fearmongering there is around this technology when nearly all of these concerns would be answered from 2-3 minutes of reading the first pages of their documentation. Shills wanted to drive people away from this tech because it allowed discussion completely out of their reach and guess what, their attempts have succeeded. 90% of the people here are now repeating what they are saying without realizing every point can be debunked by anyone who understands the protocol. You were fooled, and came out of it feeling like you dodged a bullet.

And yet who ever created 8 chan on zeronet was not codemonkey as he pointed out on Twitter. So what is the point in creating a rogue 8 chan if not to trap anons? If looks like a trap it would be best to treat it like a trap and stay the hell away from it.

It was created a long time ago as an unofficial backup to 8chan and simply didn't become well-known until 8chan went down.

we have always had bunker-sites, 08 is nothing new.
chans used to go down semi-regularly back in the day, and having bunkers to go to while the site was down has always been a thing

You really expect boomers to understand what a distributed networking system is, let alone how the internet works in the modern world?

I started a thread discussing this and its either people parroting Q lines or name calling saying I'm some undercover fed. Yeah.....

Unfortunately, I don't think many of the idiot normies will listen to this post.

Of course. As soon as there was a sharp influx of posts against the protocol that were designed to scare people away, I know they were designed to keep people from moving to a platform that was free from censorship or control. All they had to do was talk in caps, pretend like they were one of us, and to use some scary words like honeypot. And now, people are conditioned to think that is the truth, making it an uphill battle for someone like me to tell these people that they have been lied to.
I'll debunk the top lines parroted right now:
- It is a honeypot! The protocol is about creating a decentralized web architecture, by distributing the load across multiple machines, rather than connecting to a central server. This lets a website or service exist over hundreds or thousands of machines who share the same data, making it impossible to remove. THIS is the point of ZeroNet. You can build a site that, unless every single one of the hundreds/thousands of people are offline, it cannot be taken down. Yes, being part of the network requires other computers to need your IP to communicate. This is no different from a P2P network like BitTorrent. The software already has functionality built into it to accept connections from TOR or VPNs.
- You'll download illegal content! Your machine only downloads files that you are actively seeking. Unless you are actively seeking out a child abuse board, those files will never be on your computer.
- They aren't even real boards, its just to reel you in! /pol/ as of this post has 5900 posts, /qresearch/ has 2300.
Quit listening to shills and people who are repeating what they've read. Realize this is technology that allows uninterrupted communications that can't be censored. Look at this from the other side's perspective - if such a technology existed, how would you feel about people learning about this? What actions would you take to prevent its adoption?
Ask yourself why its being pushed so hard to keep people away from this.
