Sorry for the delay in replying anon.
The most important thing to consider is water. If you live some place where you can make modifications to your downspouts, here are some relatively inexpensive DIY ideas for installing a rain collection system:

If you're not able to do this, they also sell water storage containers you can fill with regular water that you'd put a date on and then refresh every 6 months. Another even cheaper option is to re-use your clear (not green) plastic 2 liter soda bottles for this purpose (clean them out with warm soapy water first). I like this because these guys can literally slide under your bed or in the small spaces in your closet, etc. Keep them in a dark, cool place and they work like a charm. Don't ever use milk gallon containers; they degrade over time. I've had great luck with the clear plastic from soda & juice though.
I would recommend always having a fresh bottle of bleach on hand for disinfecting water in an emergency. Make sure it's the unscented and non-gimmicky kind (I buy generic). Then look up the correct ratios online and print a chart out that you can keep somewhere safe and convenient for later reference. In stressful times, this will be a nice thing, not having to worry about whether you remembered something correctly.
For food, learn to shop the sales. You can go to your local grocery store's website and see what they've got on sale, and stock up on that. Do a little each paycheck, and I'm talking nonperishable stuff like canned food, beans and rice. Think about what types of food you LIKE that will sustain you. Chili is great because it's hearty and full of protein. You could literally heat it in the (opened) can over a fire and dirty up nothing more than your spoon. But get familiar with the sale ads (from more than one store is how i do it) so the extra food is less noticeable on your wallet. Also, a manual can opener is a small but very important item to always have at least one of if you'll be subsisting on canned food. And speaking of fire, check this (20 min) video out for a small cooking stove you can make yourself for under $10:

If you take any prescription meds, be sure to get extra now. Tell them you lost a bottle and double up.
Get to know your neighbors & be on friendly terms. I exchange numbers with mine & then we can communicate easily via text. This is vital IMO, especially for people like you & I, who will have important information to share & a crucial role in trying to instill a sense of calm amongst normies. Having a trusting relationship with your neighbors now will make our job much easier later.
Have a skill you enjoy and can get better at. Gardening, engine repair, hunting, fishing, first aid, wildcrafting, amateur radio, soap making, herbal healing, canning, etc etc. A skill is great because it can never be stolen or destroyed. It will also allow you to help yourself and those around you easily without expending actual resources. Having a valuable, non-depleteable skill to trade for physical goods is huge. It's the ultimate sustainable preparation ;)
Also, never forget what an important role you'll have in the Great Awakening. Print some stuff up now that will help you explain things later if you feel guided. I'm making a binder with some of the key stuff. Maybe stock extra coffee and invite the neighbors over so they can be on the same page.
Most of all, prepare for your role as the calm within the storm. Be ready for others to seek you out for information and comfort. Let love rule, and show compassion for all those who will inevitably be getting a crash course with most of this stuff.
Be the light anon!
